I would appreciate any feedback you can give. We got pregnant with IVF in early January. First hcg was 61 and on next two hcg tests it had doubled normally. US at 6 weeks showed only a gestational sac. HCG was still rising but not doubling at same rate. They want me to come back in a week for another ultrasound. I am still having nausea, smell aversions and fatigue. Is this a blighted ovum?

I'm afraid that it sounds like a blighted ovum, because at 6 weeks you should have seen a small heartbeat. I think the HCG levels will keep on rising until you start to abort naturally.
I do hope that I'm wrong and that all is fine, please keep us updated.

thanks for your comment. A week later they saw a heartbeat but it was low at 82 bpm. Heart rate remained in the 80s-90s at the next two ultrasounds and I started bleeding a week ago. Will have another ultrasound on Tuesday. They say it was a chromosomal abnormality from the beginning, and they are calling it an "abnormally growing embryo." Am fairly sure I have miscarried already or will do so in the next few days. Sad, but we have had some time to prepare.
