Periods After Miscarriage

It has been several weeks since my last posting. I went to my OB last month after 4 weeks of bleeding with my period...he diagnosed me with a polyp so I had to undergo another D&C 2 1/2 weeks ago...he went in there and found scar tissue and left over pregnancy tissue from my 1st pregnancy in May...Now, I am taking hormone replacement therapy to prevent scar tissue from forming...I just want so desperately to become pregnant again...I never thought this would be so hard...

Natalie, I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. I hope all the medication does is magic and you'll be on the road to Babyville. My friends and I always joke about how terrified we were about getting pregnant when we were younger and now that we're in our 30's, we're struggling to get pregnant. Hang in there sweetie, our time will come. Have faith and let good energy run through you.

Natalie, I am very sorry for that. As Syrah has said, have faith that we will have babies one day. Its good that they have found a problem that can be treated. I am wishing you a quick recovery so that you start ttc. Everything will be fine for you. You are all in my prayers

I don't know when a period should start after a m/c. i just recently had a miscarriage 3 weeks ago sat. and I still have simtoms of preg. I took a preg. test yesterday and it was positive. was it possible to have a positive preg. test. can i be pregnant or is it just because i misscarried 3 weeks ago.

Dak - September 5

Crystal, I am so sorry about your loss. Sometimes you still have a positive result because of that your body has not yet gone back to normal ie your body does not realise that you are no longer pregnant. Did you have unprotected s_x since m/c. Sometimes it can be preg if you started bedding right after m/c. We are different, other people will ovulate as early as two weeks after m/c while others take long. So if you are in the group of ovulating early then you might be preg. Please update us on this. Wishing you all the best so that you should heal completely. Have you ever been to PAM site. Its a nice site for those who have m/c. The site is www.pamsupport.org. Please dont leave this site we get more info by writing on different boards. Good luck to everyone

Question - September 5

what is D&C?

Beth - September 6

Response to "Question": D & C is abbreviation for "dilatation and curettage". It's a surgical procedure where the Dr. dilates the woman's cervix in order to open it and then inserts an instrument called a curette which is shaped kind of like a spoon. With the curette the uterus is sc___ped clean. The actual procedure itself takes only a few minutes to complete. This is often offered to women as an option to help empty the uterus after a miscarriage in the first trimester. The other option is to wait and see if the miscarriage will complete naturally. The D & E is another procedure but I'm not as familiar with it since it was not even offered to me as an option after my miscarriage.

Hey ladies just checking in. I hope that you all are doing well. Stand in there. -Kay

Dak - September 6

Thanks Beth for that. It will help all of us. But I have heard that D&E is more less the same as D&C its Dilatation and Evacuation. This is what I went through. The dr just said evacuation is similar to d&c but didnt specify. Surgery is also involved.

Thanks for all your responses ladies...I am trying to hang in there as much as I can...I know my time will come as it will for all of you...keeping you in my prayers...Thanks!

I miscarried at 15 weeks and had to have a D&C on August 16. I stopped bleeding the day after the procedure but still havent gotten my period. My doctor had said it could be 4-6 weeks afterward.

Erin - September 12

I m/c at 6 weeks and my period came only about 4 days late. I think it depends on how far along you were when you m/c also.

Dak - September 13

Welcome Melisa & Erin, I am sorry Melissa for your loss. Coming of Af depends on ones body. We are completely different. The maximum time is 4-8 weeks. Mine came after 41 days (5 wks 1 day) but I have heard of friends whose Af came after 9-11 weeks. I am wishing you all the best so that it should show up. Do not think about it too much. Sometimes thinking much about it makes it to delay. BABY dust to everyone. Kay, Boo & Anniemarie, where are you guys? Why you are not posting? We need to see you around with updates. Annemarie have you tested?

Annemarie - September 13

I am sorry I have not been around I was out of town visiting my parents. I tested but am not pg. I do need some happy thoughts today I opened up my calendar this morning and saw in big letters Dr. appt. find out if we are having a boy or a girl YEAH! I had gone thru my calendar and got rid of all of my notes about the pregnancy but forgot that one. It really hit me hard I have spent the day in tears. Why does something that should be so natural have to be so hard!? My prayers are with everyone.

Hi again ladies. Well, it has been pretty much 2 months since I had to terminate my pregnancy. I have only gotten some spotting here and there, but not a real AF. I still have really bad cramps, and hope it is not something serious. I have made a Dr.'s appt for next Wed. I hope everything is OK because we really want another chance...it is our anniversary on Sunday, and we want to be able to celebraste the right way! Annemarie, I am so sorry that you forgot to erase that day's Dr.'s appt. I know how you feel. I still have pple asking when I'm due and stuff...it is hard, but hopefulyl everything will be OK. I will be thinking of all of you, ladies.
