hey everyone, I too have had 3 miscarriages, all withtin the last 2 years. No children YET. Im 7w 4d pregnant right now and i saw a heartbeat for the first time in all my pregnancies. im on progesterone this time and had all the necessary testing done which all came back fine and was told to ttc again. im scared because i thought once i saw a heartbeat i was in the clear but now im reading differently. im just keeping my hopes up and trying not to stress out. This is our last try at it. We both decided that if it doesnt work out this time we cant go through this again and maybe its just not meant to be. does anyone this way also?

i was pregnant 6 times and have one daughter and another on the way...stress can really hurt you and during the first trimester of pregnancy, i would have these splittin' headaches and i would take aleve for the pain and i just recently found out that aleve, ibuprofen, exedrin, advil, etc are not to be taken because it thins out the blood and can cause you to miscarry...my doctor has me take 1 children's asprin along with my prenatal vitamins daily and i had to drink a lot of water to keep the headaches from getting worse...i hope this helps...

13 years ago I had a premature birth that resulted in the loss of a son. 5 years later I had a healthy son with minimal problems during pregnancy. He is now 8. Since his birth I have had 3 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy which resulted in the loss of a tube and an ovary. My one ovary that I have left is so far away from where it is suppose to be that I was told I would never be able to get pregnant again because the tube was so twisted and stretched. My husband and I went on to adopt 2 sets of twin boys which are now 5 and 2. On the day of the finalization of the 2nd set of twins I conceived and I am now almost 13 weeks pregnant. I just finish taking progesterone suppositories and I have had so many blood tests done I can't even list them all. So far everything has come back normal. I have a sono done every 2 weeks by a maternal/fetal specialist and then I see my regular ob in between. My doctor is also doing a glucose test because of fear that I might have gestational diabetes due to polycystic ovaries. His thinking though is that it is just a stroke of bad luck. I know of plenty of women who have gone on to have successful pregnancies after unexplained miscarriages. Hopefully that will be the case for us.

Dylan and Colette, You should ask for genetic testing to ensure there are no incompatabilities between yourselves and your partners. ALSO it's very important to find out whether or not your are RH post_tive or Negative, a simple blood test can tell you. If you're negative you may need special therapy to prevent another misscarriage due to being Rh negative with an Rh Positive baby. It's not very common but It happens, It happend to me. BTW I've had three misscarriages, I'm 7 weeks into my 4th pregnancy and I'm only 26 years old, so Age isn't always the cause of these things... I'm at the perfect age for this, but still three losses have occured. I've got Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. That's something else you should both look into. it can cause both infertility and eary miscarriages. Good luck

Hi Dylan- So sorry for your losses - I ready your posting and wanted to let you know that both my Mum and Sister-in-Law had multiple miscarriages - and both went on to have beautiful babies afterwards....so hang in there!

I had 3 miscarriages before being diagnosed with a bloodclotting disorder (elevated Lipo Protien A). I started Heparin injections twice daily and Baby Aspirin before conception and thoughout pregnancy. I carried triplets to 32 weeks and gave birth to 3 healthy miracles. After m/c 3 times I thought I would never give birth to my own baby. Praise God for a great doctor and Heparin.

I am 35 with a 13 yr old son. I am so glad I have found this thread. I m/c at about 5 wks on Jan 8 this year (on my honeymoon). Although upset, I thought "OK these things often happen and no doubt this is natures way of saying that there was somthing wrong. I will try again." I immediately fell pregnant again and just had my 2nd m/c at 5 wks. I was devastated. I asked my Dr why is this happening. He advised me that only 1 in 3 pregnancies carry full term and some couples can experience recurrent m/c over and over before a successful pregnancy. I thought well I have never heard anyone talking about this before, probably because it isn't a discussed topic. So glad to find others who have also gone through this. It gives me hope reading the stories of those who have gone on to have healthy babies after this experience. It also gives me hope to come across so many strong women in this boat (and some much worse) who still have the strength to keep going for that healthy baby. I will keeping trying and I will keep praying for all of us to finally get our wish. If any of us does succeed please let this forum know so that the faith can continue. Baby dust to all !!!!!!!!!!!

Babytwo - Miscarriages at 5wks can be due to low progesterone. I have had three miscarriages and I am currently pregnant. I have ran into problems (spotting and cramping) at 5 wks with three pregnancies. (One m/c was definitetly not caused by low progesterone - I made it too far along for it to be a factor) Two of the pregnancies resulted in a m/c, but my current pregnancy is still going strong at 13wk4d. I was immidately put on progesterone suppositories and modified bedrest when the spotting started this time. So far so good.

Kara H. My first m/c was due to low progesterone that was how the dr knew something was up before the bleed. I am not too sure this time though as I had blood taken two days earlier and my progesterone levels were fine but my HCG was low. My dr has said that some women can go through several m/c before a successful pregnancy. As such we will try again and see how it goes. If this happens again the dr will investigate further. We have only ttc since december so to get bfp twice in that short time must indicate DH and I are both pretty fertile. So fingers crossed we won't have to wait too long.

Babytwo - My doctor consulted a fertility specialist with my current pregnancy when I started spotting, and even though my progesterone was 28, he still put me on 200mg twice a day. It is supposed to aid placental growth and help the hcg rise fast enough to help the body recognize that it is pregnant so bleeding doesn't start. I would just be very suspicious that they are happening at about the same time. It can be an indicator of an underlying problem. Good luck!

Thanks for that Kara. I took my hpt and bfn which I did expect. I have done a bit of reading on this site and have started to wonder if lupus may be a cause. I have not been diagnosed with it but my paternal grandmother had lupus and often suffered with it. I think I will discuss this with my dr as well as the progesterone. Thanks again. DH and I have been ttc since December so as you can see we obviously get pregnant very easily so hopefully with some intervention to keep a peanut we may have some luck. I am 35 as well so I suppose age could also be a factor.

i had 3 miscarriages in row over a period of 3 years which was hell but i am happy to say i have a beautiful little boy who is now 2. i felt so low i was convinced there was something wrong with me and i would never carry but i did but deep down i believe the babies i lost were girls and i can only have boys which might be the same in your case so chin up and keep trying good things come to those who wait and i believe that as my son is so special.

babytwo - February 15

Maz, Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I am so glad to see that you have been blessed with your sweet little boy. I think this gives hope to all of us to keep trying.

DD here two m/c s 12/3/05 and 2/11/06. I am in the process of educating myself. The docs seems so darn secretive about possible testing and things to look for. I cam across a site with the following fertility and prenatal testing. Anyone know what these are? BhCG; Estradiol; FSH; LH; Progesterone; Prolactin; Testosterone*; Total BhCG;
