Navyboo- the only reason why the % has increased to babies being born around 38 weeks (or under 40) is because mulitple births has increased so much due to clomid, etc. (meds) and because having a c-section is no longer only available for medical emergencies, so they do them 2 weeks before your due date. If this is your first, and your not having a c-section or mulitple births you will probably go full term. Especially if you know your date of conception. In fact, you will probably go past your 40 weeks. Either way, yea... your still close. hehe.. I read you said your at 29 weeks, and thought, "wow, just behind me" cuz I feel like I just hit 30 weeks. Then it hit me, oh c___p.. no, I am 36 weeks now. So, once you hit 30 weeks, it flys by so fast. ___iamkc- hubby got home a week ago and is here for one more week. So, if I dont have baby by about the 19th, then I have to hold off for a week. lol... then after that he's home for almost a month but then leaves for 3. After that, he doesn't leave for a long time. Cant wait!! So, right now... its either, I have to give birth within the next 7 days (if not) then I have to wait 14 days. Knowing our luck, in 9 days from now I will go into actual labor. Although, it feels like anytime now. OH AND ALSO, if I do give birth before he leaves in a week from now, he wont have to leave, hehe... Its so frustrating. I just hope it all works out and he gets to see his first baby being born. Also, iamkc- I wish you the best of luck!! You deserve it!!

hey all, well i do think i had my first contraction this morning. i was lying there, watching my belly, and i went to push on it, and the whole thing was hard. kinda like when i can feel her body, but this was the whole belly. i asked my mom, and she said it was. my back is hurting so bad today. i had some energy yesterday, and did some excercises. just some lunges on the steps, but i had trouble turning over in bed. this morning i couldn't even get out. walking, ha. let's say i almost have to drag my right leg. it hurts in the back above my hips on my right side. whatever that is. Daniella, when you take a walk around, do you ever get a little crampy feeling really low? ~Melissa

Daniella - April 20

Melissa- its much worse than a little crampy. I started getting period like (but worse) cramps at about 32 weeks. I also lost my mucus plug then as well and went to the dr. I was 1 cm dilated and 25% effaced. I was real worried about the cramps and then seeing the mucus plug stuff. Then at 34 weeks I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Pain got much worse, yet still no signs of braxton hicks contractions. At 36 weeks I was 3 cm dilated, 75% effaced and baby at -2 station (real low)... I went into L&D because I was getting these sharp pains "down there" so bad that it would nearly put me to the floor. Also, hurt my lower back so bad it would make me want to get sick. I still never felt a contraction, but while in L&D they had me hooked up to the monitor machine and I was having them. I just didn't know what they felt like. Anyhow, I am now 37 weeks and it still kills to walk. So, from what went to slight cramps, to horrible cramps, to pain... now is pain so bad it feels like baby is trying to rip out of me. Very hard to describe until you feel it yourself. It hurts like hell and I have a high pain tolerance. Sure hope you don't get this.

oh, i'm so sorry for you! it'll be over soon! then you'll have that little boy! hubby's back to PMS again. since his parents died, he's been on this mission to get us a house bought before the baby comes, and when something happens that anyone else would be happy about, he's upset. why are they such babies???? grr, he wanted the closing date to be moved up, he got that, but now he's mad cuz it isn't soon enough! then he' s mad at me because i said someday i'd like the floors to be redone, and he says we won't have enough time to do them before we move in. i don't know why he isn't thinking clearly. hopefully, he'll straighten out. it's killin me, and i don't have any big frying pans to knock some sense into him!!

Daniella - April 20

Melissa- just try to stay strong and hold on to those patience (I know, much harder when pregnant).... I am sure he will come around.

liltif - April 21

Good afternoon ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. The clomid worked this month as far as ovulating, but we did not conceive. Today is now my cd 1. For some reason I had a feeling that last month was not our month. I do have better feelings for this time! I pray! Oh well. I hope everyone is hanging in there! ~Tiffany

cbella - April 22

HI ladies! I've been checking the posts, but I just haven't said much in the past 2 weeks...so hello! DANIELLA-hopefully you're busy with a new baby right now! I haven't looked in on any other threads, so if you have posted an update I apologize for not realizing! And Melissa- I hope those cramps have lessened or gone away :) But it's all for such a good cause right? Is hubby getting any better? Mine gets like that but it always cycles around back to "normal" (sometimes just takes longer than other times!) Tiffany-it's good to hear the Clomid worked for O. I'll be praying that this next month will be "it" for you. I am finally feeling back to normal after my ordeal. Its been 2 weeks since my surgery and the only thing reminding me of it are my incision marks which are still a bit sore. I'm not bloated anymore-yay! That took such a long time to go away! I just got back from CA with dh. It was a business trip for him but since I had the week off (I teach & this was our spring break week) I tagged along! It was very relaxing. We were in the studio audience for Deal or No Deal!!! (Anyone watch that?) It was pretty exciting to see all that goes into a production like that. We don't see that much here in OH! Well, take care all!

liltif - April 22

cbella-glad to hear that you are doing better and Thanks! Are you going to try using the clomid? Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. The weather is beautiful here in Indiana.

cbella - April 23

Liltif-as far as I know we don't have trouble conceiving so I don't think I need the Clomid. But we all know how what we think and what is actual are not always the same! We weren't actually trying when I got pg last time, so now that we will be trying I hope it's no different! (Except for the outcome of course!) Weather is great here too (Ohio). Have a beautiful Sunday!

cbella- man, I wish I was in Ohio right now. That is where my family is, but hubby and I are overseas due to the military. I am originally from Chicago and he is from Ohio. Have you ever been to cedar point?? We went last year. His parents aren't too far from there. Kinda by YSU. If you know where any of that is, or you south?? Anyhow... I totally hear you on the clomid. So many doctors give it out like candy. You can ovulate and still not get pregnant. It takes much more than just ovulation. My friends doctor gave her clomid and she ended up getting ovarian cancer due to it. The reason (the found out later) that she wasn't conceiving was because her tubes (it might have only been one tube) was blocked... So, she was ovulating, but it wasn't getting to the uterus. She is very lucky not to get an ectopic pregnancy. Yet, then she had to have her one ovary removed anyhow. Gotta watch out with that stuff!! I would only ovulate a few times a year and only have one tube... the doctor gave it to me because I have LPD (luteal phase defect) and I never took it. In fact its still up in my medicine cabinet. Well, after my D&C... I got pregnant with only one tube, having s_x one night and the chance I actually ovulated that cycle. I am due any day now! So, I believe when its meant, it will happen. Good luck!!!! Cbella- still hanging on! lol... I was 3 cm dilated 2 weeks ago... who knows now. This is dragging and every day I think "this is it", but not yet! :( Oh well... patience is a virtue!

liltif - April 24

Daniella-thanks for the info! My dr is keeping a close eye on me. Plus he started me out on the 50 instead of the 100 my previous dr started me on! When I had my ectopic surgery he checked my remaining tube and said it looked great... so I'm praying that it will happen soon. But you are absolutely right, it will happen when it is meant to. Patience is a virtue for me! I do have a better feeling for this month though. My dr told me to do another round this month of the 50 and if I don't get pg, then we will discuss what to do next. Good Luck to everyone! You are all in my prayers! ~Tiffany

DANIELLA- How strange...I live in Boardman, a suburb of Youngstown! I went to YSU!!! What a small world! And my husband's cousin (who is staying with us) is from Chicago! I thought FOR SURE you would have had that little one by now! I bet you did too. Well, only God knows for sure when things will happen right? :) I am (impatiently) waiting for O and eventual af. My b-day is 2 days from now and that would be a great present! Have a good day!

fergie - April 24

Hi guys, hope you dont mind me joining in but i'm really confused on what to for the best,i found out i was pregnant on the 13th April and started bleeding on sun 16th Apr,i went to a&e and they took blood tests to measure my hcg levels,as i was only spotting they told me not to worry.i continued to bleed heavily for a week. I then had my 2nd hcg level tested on the tues after, the 1st result came back as 178 the 2nd was 230,they said i could possibly have an etopic, they took further blood tests and done a scan which found nothing, the 3rd test was 236,after a 4th test which was 300 they are now insisting on giving me the metho shot but i am in 2 minds as they cant say for definate that it is etopic, the docs seems to eager to give the shot and be done with it as well which is putting me off. Am i being stupid and just take the shot, Any advise????????

Daniella - April 24

liltif- I sure wish you the best of luck!! Hopefully this is it and you dont' have to worry about further talk with doc. hehe.. There is so much in play besides ovulating. That is just the first step, hehe. So, once you get that down, you have to make sure the rest works also. Do you take progesterone supplements right after ovulationg to keep the lining of the uterus nice and thick for implantation?? Or anything else? or you just on clomid?? __cbella- WOW!!! What a small world. My dh's family lives in Struthers, LOL... He went to Cardinal Mooney. If you know the school. How long ago did you go to YSU? He went there right out of HS for I think 2 years. I know I have never been in a car accident in my life, yet I got hit (while we were moving from Chicago, getting his stuff in Ohio to Virigina) by a drunk driver in Boardman. That place really seemed kinda like a dump to me. Well, parts of Boardman. I think this was the bad area. LOL... SO, do you go to the Canfield Fair?? Anyhow, I am about to leave for my appt. here in a few... probably getting my membranes stripped, so hopefully labor within 48 hours after that. Wish me luck. :) __Fergie- Have they thought about doing a D&C first?? Its oviously not a viable pregnancy, so the best is to try to clean out the uterus. If your HCG still rises or doesn't go down all the way, then that is a sign that implantation may be outside the uterus (usually the tube). Might want to ask for a D&C first. Its a quick procedure and doesn't hurt or anything. I had it done with my last before this, but we seen it on the scan in the uterus, but the heartbeat had stopped so it was no longer viable. My HCG also was hardly going up. SO, it may just be a natural miscarriage... but, since your levels aren't going down is what probably worries the doc. and the levels are too low to see anything in the uterus, so its a hard decision. I would get a D&C done first. If that doesn't work, then take the meds. The last thing you want is to have a ruptured tube. I almost lost my life when my tube ruptured, but we didn't know it was ectopic (or that I was even pregnant) until it was too late. Good luck!!!

cbella - April 24

Hi Fergie...so sorry to hear what you're going through. It sounds very similar to me. I found out I was pg 3/21 (well, that's when the dr confirmed it) but they couldn't see anything. My levels were tested every 48 hours and they did go up, but not nearly like they should have. I know that the fact that the numbers rise is probably giving you a bit of hope-I remember thinking that too. My dr advised a D&C for 3/29-1 week later. In that week I had been bleeding somewhat heavily and even went to the ER for pain. Btw-the ER dr told me I was just miscarrying and def. not ectopic, which I later learned was NOT the case. The D&C was done b/c my dr was sure this was not a viable pg and to help determine if it was ectopic. If pg tissue is found, then you're ok...it was probably just too small to see on a u/s and it was a m/c. If no pg tissue found, then it's ectopic b/c the hormone levels are rising from a pregnancy somewhere! (That was the case with me) I had the meth shot the next week, but b/c I had waited too long my tube was near rupture and I had to have emergency surgery 2 days after the shot...you don't want to let it get that far. Not only is it risking your life, but it hurts like crazy. OK now that you got that earful, I don't know all of your info (nor am I a dr!) so I don't mean to turn your situation into my own. Do you know how far along you are? Are you having any pain with the bleeding? Do you trust your dr? You'll find tons of great info from knowledgable ladies here-I hope it helps! Best of luck to you! DANIELLA that's awful about the drunk driver. Really gives my town a gret rep huh? We actually live on the border of Canfield-the Fair is a yearly thing! I cheered in HS and Mooney was one of our big rivals! I graduated HS in 99 and also attended YSU for only 2 years (I 1st went to Kent). I graduated in 03. I have friends from Struthers...that's just wild! Well, to make you feel better its getting colder outside and the sky's pretty gray here...definately Ohio :) Hope all goes well at your appt.!
