To Maybe: My sister had 2 positive hpts and then a negative blood. They gave her pills to start her period, but she didn't take them. She took another positive hpt and then went back and got a positive blood. BTW, my niece is 19 now. Anyway, there is always the possibility of lab error. Also, a qualitative blood test is only a yes or no and who knows what level hcg they use for a yes. If you are still getting positive hpts, go get another blood test and request a quant_tative so it will give your exact hcg level.

thanks to all! the first response only has one line which means negative only one line on that test on my ept 3 + and one negative blood test should i go on the 25th to get that blood test when i believe it has been confirmed that i am not pregnant. i am so deep in hurt i felt has if my heart was taken from me my hopes

Maybe, I wish the best to you. I had a neg blood test when I was prego and I am now 4 months along. I found out like a week after the neg blood test that I really was pregnant from a HPT. I was 4 weeks along for Hpt and 3 weeks for blood test. I agree with Denise and I think if you are up to it try a different brand of HPT'S I have heard the Wal-mart brands are pretty accurate along with Walgreen's brand.Otherwise if you do no t get a period soon have a blood est done to be sure and check quant levels.

Maybe, Also Denise is talking about the control line which is one line that will show up only if the test is correct if it does not show up it is a dud test. Not the +/-window box the other window box If the test dose not have a control window take another test that dose. Let us know what happens with you. .

I am two weeks late... I am always on time. Monday the 16th I took a urine test at the doctors it was negative. Thursday night the 19th, I took a hpt and it was positive, today the 20th, in the morning, I took another hpt and it was +, I was so excited went to my doctors to get a confirmation and it came out negative there..... They did take blood and now I have to wait until monday.... I am so confused and frustrated.

Thanks Denise, I hope so!! I was soooo dissapointed and then after coming to this site, I got some hope.... I am going to buy more hpt, just to be sure..... But i really hope so......... I hope everyone keeps their fingers crossed.... :)

Ya, I know what you mean. This site gave me hope when my doc said I wasn't prego and my hpt's said I was. Over the course of a week and 1/2 I must've taken 25 of them. And when my blood test came back neg, I went out and had a few drinks.... to think my little blastocyst was implanting at that time... grrrrr!!!!! What happened in may case was the blood test called for 20 or more HCG in the blood or else came back negative, but my hpt only needed 15 to come out positive! So then when I took the doc's urine tests... well, their HCG level called for 50... so that came back negative as well. The good news is that in just a few days, they all came back positive. So keep doing the hpt's... it will help keep you sane, if nothing else! :o) let us know what the doc says!

Well, got the results of the blood work today and its POSITIVE!!! woohooo!! dont know the exact level of hcg yet, cld back to get that..... my last preg was twins!! so we are nervous that it may be multiple again...... I will keep you all updated, thanks again!!! :)

Hi everyone. I'm happy to find people in similar situations to me. I have not had a real period since 9/30 (that was the first day) and have been trying to get pregnant since the middle of october. I went to the Dr. on friday and took a urine test it was neg, but i had drank a lot of water that day. Last night I took a test it was pos, and again this morning pos. I'm really hoping I'm preg but just concerned that its false because it's been so long since I've had a real period. I did have bleeding for about a day in the first part of Dec. Any thoughts?!?

Today had ob/gyn appt. their urine test came back positive!! woohooo.... had been taking lots of hpt just to verify it was not a figment of my imagination... also did a ultrasound... Im not far enough along yet to see much, but we saw a sack and was ecstatic to see that... had started to doubt just the way things were going. I had been spotting for a while. But today doc said everything look great!!! very excited!!! hope all is well for everyone else too.

momx2? - have to agree with everyone here... if the hpt is + , I think its enough to celebrate.... I had my doubts, my family had doubts, and even my primary Dr. had doubts, but the hpt continued to say + !! and I saw it first hand today!!! Keep us updated!!

Hi everyone well all my hpt which was + came out to be actually negative. two blood test confirmed it. Did not have a normal period if thats what you want to call it but have been trying since doing the bbt every morning and trying to time it just right. I just pray that this time I will be having a + hpt when the time is needed to take one. Wish me luck girls and congrats to all who is pregnant.!
