Pregnancy Info HOME

Hi everyone, thanks to all of your posts on here, I now know I'm not alone. I also have not had a period since Nov 19th, and have taken 4 home tests and one urine test at the clinic...all of which were negative. Sometimes I feel pregnancy symptoms like tender b___sts, nausea, and tiredness, but then I start to think its all in my mind! My boyfriend and I HAVE been trying to get pregnant, so there is a huge chance I might be, but the negative tests are throwing me off. Could someone please give me their advice on what the next step would be. I should be having another period the 19th of this month, so if I don't, is it safe to say I'm pregnant?? I'm sooo confused and I hate to not know whats goin on with my body.

Hi patty, your best bet is to go to your doctor and ask for a blood test because they are way more accurate than the urine test. good luck, i hope you get what you want.. ***baby dust****

Yea, I figured that was what I should do, but based on some of the other women's experiences, it seems that even blood tests at times can be tricky. I guess I'll just wait to see if I miss my period again this week, and if so head to the doc for a blood test. Thanks!

TO PATTY.. you could save yourself some grief and skip the bloodwork stuff and demand they do a transv____al u/s. Its the most accurate I've found, they may try and talk you out of it , but really it couldnt hurt to be over cautious. Im thinking if you miss this period too, you'd be heading into your third month, towards second trimester if you are p/g. wishing all the best good-luck!!

Thanks Megan, I'll definitely bring that up to my doctor. I really hope I can get some answers SOON. I'll keep you posted.

PATTY- Your welcome, good luck and try not to let the doc talk you into something when its your bod and you want to know! right! i had a similar experience last month where at 5-6 weeks late i just went along for the ride and let them do the foot work well needless to say i wasnt p/g but as soon as i demanded i finally got some answers so if im sounding redundant its coming from experience, just dont be so pa__sive! best of luck keep me posted !!

Well I got the results from the ultra sound today. I have a small tiny sist on my left ovary but the doctor doesn't think that has anything to do with it because it's so small. He thinks that it is from stopping the pill. It's been 3 months since I stopped taking the pill. So when I get back from California and I haven't started yet, they will send me to an obgyn. My thyroid is fine too. I know I'm definitely not pregnant because it would have showed up on the ultra sound. So I just thought I would let all of you guys know and I will keep you guys updated on when or if I get my period.

Congratulations Jasy! just out of curiousity how did you find out? Also did you get any negative responses from hpt or blood work?

I just wanted to say how happy I am to have found this site. I can't believe how many women are experiencing the same thing I am. It makes me feel like I'm not alone and that's a really good thing. And congrats JASY!!! Just out of curiousity how many periods did you miss before you finally visited a doctor? Also, did they find out you were pregnant through a u/s or blood test?

Alright... I have just read this entire thing starting with Mandy, and like all of you.. I am in the same boat. I have not had a period since November 20, and all tests (even blood) have come back neg. The difference with me, though, is that I have an IUD. I do have ALL of the symptoms, same as when I was pregnant last. (I have a 6 year old) My question is, how long can an IUD be effective? I have had it in for well over a year. I am guessing, after reading all of the posts.. that I may have a cyst.. I dunno... Any thoughts?

liezel well i took 6 hpt and all neg then i just gave up but this last week my symtoms got worst my b___bs were killing me to the point i almost cried then i was urinating like crazy every 15 minutes so i went to a late night pregnancy center and took another urine test and finally it came out positive. the doctor said most likely my hormone just now started building up cause for the first 2 months i had no sings just my belly started to get bloated and so i thought my period was coming but it never did but now i have to tell my bfs mom and my bf is still shocked i think he doesnt want it but im keepin it cause i have to well GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU GOD BLESS ILL BE PRAYING FOR ALL OF YOU THANX

HI I NEED HELP LOOKS LIKE I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM MANY HERE HAVE... IM 2 AND A HALF MONTHS LATE, AND I TOOKEN HOME PREGNANCY TEST BUT THEY CAME OUT NEGATIVE... I RARELY GET HEADEACHS BUT I BEEN HAVING MANY LATELY... I HAVE SOUR BREAST HERE AND THERE, I GET NAUSIATED BUT I DONT THROW UP THOUGH, I GET CONSTIPATION TOO IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS... BUT I CANT SLEEP AS MUCH ANYMORE, I FEEL REAL TIRED BUT I CANT SLEEP, EVEN AT NIGHT AND WHEN I TRY SLEEPIN ON MY STOMACH IT HURTS... I WAS HAVING STRONG PAINS SIMILAR TO CRAMPS BUT A BIT DIFERENT... THERES MORE THINGS, BUT I WANTED TO SEE IF THERES ANY OTHER CAUSES TO BE LATE... OH AND PEOPLE SUGGESTED IT MIGHT BE STRESS BUT LATELY EVERYTHINGS BEEN FINE FOR ME WITH NO PROBLEMS OR ANYTHING TO CAUSE STRESS ON ME, BESIDES THAT IM LATE... IF ANYONE CAN INPUT ANYTHING WILL HELP THNX...

18YEAROLD....... Have you had any blood tests done?? if for privacy from parents and or medical's an issue go to a planned parenthood center. If you've had blood work done consider how long ago! you may want to get it done again if it was awhile ago. you could have an ultrasound done and urge your docs because if your period is 2 1/2 months late your considered to be a month along by the time you would normally find out, so let's a__sume you are pregnant you's be heading into your 4th month. Have you been taking any prenatal vitamins or any prenatal care just in case. Folic acid tablets are very important at this stage if you were to be. Id start pressing your doc for answers , good-luck and take care of your self, keep me posted
