Hi Emma, I saw on another post that you said you rented a Doppler to convince your Dr. that you were pregnant. I think that's a great idea, and congratulations on your pregnancy! I just wondered how far along you were when you rented one? Also, once you showed the Dr., did you end up getting blood work done? Did that end up showing positive as well? Obviously you were pregnant! How far along are you now? Congrats!!!

I was 12 weeks when I rented mine and I took it in with me he did another blood test and it was neg and he thought it was funny when he heard a heat beat of 168 and then sent me for a US, and he said he cant explain it and I was smart for getting the doppler....I got it from sweetbeats and its only 22 buck a month, I you suggest it to anyone who thinks they may be this far along, I am so excited...thanks EMMA

Wow Emma! That's a great story. What were your symptoms? Did you ever end up getting a positive HCG test? Did you have difficulty finding the baby's heartbeat? I think I must be at least 10-12 weeks prego, HCG is still below 5. But I know I am pregnant! Your story really encouraged me.

Nope I never have I am 32 weeks and just for kicks my doc does at test urine and blood every time I go in and it is still neg...lol, he cant explain it but all we know is it happens, When I got my doppler I was 12 weeks I couldnt find it but I didnt stop trying cuz I knew it was there...when I did hear it I was 14 weeks and counted them at 162 so I knew it wasnt mine...that day I walked in to my OBGYN and told him to listen to this, And he could not believe it. And the nurse there said that docs should listen to women more often cuz we know our bodies better then any doc so ladies dont take NO for a answer keep pluggin and if you feel your right DONT stop and get a doppler , it might take some time to find it , use alot of ultrasound gel and take it slow its easy to scan over the babies beat.....LOVE EMMA

Emma, congratulations on a healthy pregnancy! I have told your story to a few of my friends who have all been utterly amazed. Would your doctor do an ultrasound on you before you rented the Doppler? Or he just wouldn't listen to you and that's why you rented it?

Emma, I'm so happy for you. I just got back from an ultra sound that showed nothing. I think I'm anywhere from 10-13 wks pregnant. The thing is, my normal doctor and my OBGYN can't seem to think of anything else this could be. My ultrasound showed no cysts, cancer, or anything else weird, so that is comforting. I still think I'm pregnant because I have been sooooooooo sick and know that I am not just going through some weird change! Any ideas for me?

I think you should rent a doppler and take the time yourself that the docs wont take to find a heart beat,,On the down side I had my 1st ultrasound when I was 14 weeks and could clearly see my baby she was about 3 inches long crown to rump he said, So I think if you were that far along you would be able to see I have pictures of my other babies at 12 weeks....But if you are not as far along as you think you are then it could be to early my I had one done at 8 weeks and he could not see anything, that may be the case unless you are sure of your dates, I have learned that you can ovulate even if you have not AF., strange i know but it happens...If you have the feeling that you are dont take NO for a answer and get a doppler it takes about 3 days for you to get it and just go where is is quiet and do some baby searching.....let me know how your doing WISHING you the best....EMMA

Emma, thanks so much for your encouragement. I could be off on my date but judging by my symptoms, at the very very least I am 8.5-9 wks. Do you know if you can begin having symptoms up to 3 days after conception? Hubby and I bd'd (although weren't trying at the time) February 16, by February 19th I woke up with intense nausea. If I got prego that night it would be exactly 9 weeks. If I was already pregnant at that time I should be about 13 wks prego. People are thinking I'm crazy, but then again, 4 doctors can't tell me what is wrong with me! If someone could give me a viable alternative, I would believe them. It's just that no doctor, out of 3 different ones I have seen, including an OBGYN, and a handful of nurses I've spoken with can figure out what's wrong. So I am stubborn and believe I'm pregnant. Hubby and I were NOT ttc, so I know it's not in my head. I don't have cysts, fibroids, cancer, or anything weird like that, so then what the heck is it if I"m not pregnant?!!! Do you know of anyone else with a similar story? I will definitely think about the Doppler. I might wait a few weeks and then rent one.
