Ok, I can relate to all of you ladies.. I normally have a regular period.. 30 days with pain that leaves me bed ridden the third day, it is also very heavy I have to use the maximum protection pads with wings and change them a few times each day... The last few periods have been a little weird. Also me and DH have been TTC for 13 months.. Last Friday I started very very light spotting.. brownish, today is the 5th day I have had brownish spotting, and still no heavy period, and no pain... (Which is nice!!) Also I was at the DR office today and he prescribed me Clomid and said I should start it today. I have read that Clomid causes birth defects. Any advice on what to do??? Thanks!!

I forgot to say that the dr took a urine test which came back negative.

did u try getting a blood test yet? ive missed 2 periods and have had 4 negative urine tests. im going in next week to get a blood test. the dr told me that was the only way to be 99.99% sure.

Ninah - February 8

That's the funny thing. They only wanted to take a urine test at the dr office, and when it came back negative they were like go ahead and take clomid... I'm like right... and you're not going to take a blood test? They said that the spotting should be considered my period and to take the drugs. But I am just going to skip this cycle to be absolutely positive because I don't want a baby with birth defects. Thank you

I'm not supposed to get my period until the 23rd, but about 3-4 days ago i started spotting. It was a BROWN color. I have never had this before. It is to early to tell if Iam pregnant, so what should i do?

Hello girls I too had the brown spotting for the past year before my periods. However last year when I went off the pill in January (we were ttc our 2nd) I starting spotting my first period and got pregnant in Feb. I had brown spotting for 8 weeks during the pregnancy off and on and miscarried at 8 weeks. The doc did a D& C told me to wait 2 periods. I thought okay I'll hopefully "start fresh" nope started the weird brown spotting before my periods again. I asked if this could be the reason I miscarried and he said no. My regular doctor wasn't concerned about it either. After 2 periods we started trying again and it took 5 months (every period had brown spotting before) I was just about to insist that my doctor do some investigating about it when I found out I was pregnant again. Now I am 15 1/2 weeks preg. with no spotting this time! The point is I don't think the doctors know why it happens either! But what I researched on my own was that is can possibly be to much progesterone and if you are pregnant and brown spotting its usually not a good sign. Plus the urine tests are not always strong enough to detect the growth hormone so ladies insist on blood tests! Good luck.

Your getting your cycle that happens to me when i get a late one.

okay got a question, im still on my birth control but i think i may be pregnant. ive missed 2 periods now but the urine tests keep coming back negative. would still being on my birth control have an effect on the results of the pregnancy tests? around the time of my period, ive gotten really light brown spotting and my doctor wont let me take a blood test unless i have a positive urine test. what should i do?

katie - February 14

Hey.. I've been on my period since the 3rd of this month, but i had my period like 2 weeks before this... this one is more like i mean its not really a period its brown and blood but and its kind medium not really heavy or light. could that be a miss carraige or am i pregnant?
