I'm so glad I stumbled upon this site. My husband and I have been trying to conceive our first child for 6 months. Like many of you, my cycle has been very regular and I'm never late. This month, for the first time ever, I am 5 days late but took a first response test today and it was negative. We were both incredibly disappointed. Having read through all the messages, I feel more hopeful now. Maybe I just haven't produced enough of the hormone yet. I'll try not to test again until Monday (9 days late). The best advice I've seen in this thread is to see your doctor as soon as possible. I wouldn't go beyond two weeks late before seeing your PCP. I'll let you know how my story turns out. In the meantime, I hope there are more positive stories to read. Good luck to everyone.

Sometimes period will come late, if you have no delay getting a period earlier you can probably go for a HCG test to determine your pregnancy

Since getting off the pill in July my cycles have been longer and one was really long. We've been trying since September to get pregnant and now I'm 7 days late but 4 tests show negatives. I really don't feel the typical symptoms of pregnancy so I'm torn between bothering my GYN with this or just chalking it up to a missed period. I have to admit I am becoming obsessed with this question since my husband and I are really anxious to conceive. Should I bother my GYN?

Do you have any symptoms of pregnancy? In Take Charge of Your Fertility, the author talks about checking the position of your cervix. During pregnancy, it stays high and soft, like the consistancy of your lips. I am currently 2 weeks late, with 3 - HPT, and 1 - blood, yet my cervix is soft and high, my nipples are constantly sensitive, backaches, metallic taste in mouth and nausea. Never had these symptoms before and if pregnant, it will be our first. I'll keep you posted!

i'm so glad that i came across this site...it's great to read that all of these feelings that i am having are common and it doesnt make me psychotic...my husband and i have been trying for about 3 months..i got off bcp 6 months ago and af came normally for the first 3 months...in oct, i thought i was pregnant since i was 2 weeks late - after 2 neg hpt, i made a dr's appt and that urine test was neg. the next day af came. 3 weeks later (nov 12), af came again (1 week early) but only lasted 1.5days. right now i feel like i'm preggers (sore b___st, 99.2 temp per my dr, headaches, sore back, and nausea) but the blood test was negative. it's only been 3/4weeks since af last visited but i feel like i am. just glad there are others who share my psychotic episodes.

My last period was a normal 28 day cycle now according to an ovulation test i didn't ovulate untill day 19 but we travelled oversea's, we are from Australia and we travelled to Thailand which is a 9 hour flight for our Honeymoon which was fantastic depressing to come back to work and normal stuff again, it is beautiful in Phuket. What my question is would travelling make me ovulate later?

I am in the same boat, I took two tests, both negative, but I also had spotting two weeks ago, so I could be pg late, or annovulation, but as long as I don't have sharp cramps on one side wtih/without a fever it should be ok.

Well, I was 2 weeks late and just this weekend began bleeding very heavily. I had severe pain in my lower abdomen so my hubby took me to the ER. The dr did an ultrasound and he said it could have been an early miscarriage, although nothing showed up in the bloodwork. At least I'm relieved not to have any cysts or tumors in my ovaries and uterus! By all of my symptoms, I felt extremely pregnant, and the night before my period I became very emotional and my b___sts (and nipples) were no longer senstive and tender. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting, I know how frustrating that can be!

Hi. I am also late with my period. Almost two weeks late. Just got an IUD for the first time five weeks ago . DOn't know if this is normal or not. I took a prengancy test because I am late, exhausted, adn nauseated. I have a three year old so i know what it feels like to be pregnant. But the home pregnancy test came back negative.. im confused.. any suggestions?

Hi Girls, Haven't heard much from anyone the last week, hope everyone is well. I'm a bit down today i got that dreaded horrible period yesterday i just had a bad day it really got me down. Geez it's hard to wait for something you really want. It's been 6 months now and i know some people wait heaps longer than i have but i'm starting to feel like it will never happen. good luck to everyone.

I did a pregnancy test the day before my period and the day after my period was due..and it came up negative with both...how long after i am due should i wait to do a pregnancy test? I was due yesterday Dec 17th 2005

I'm a week and five days late. On the 4th day that my period didnt come on i took a test. It came out negitive. I waited two more days and took another one but it too came out negitive. I'm confused now cause im not having any syptoms of my period coming on or pregnancy symptoms.I mean no sore b___st or anything.I do have this one thing I'm always HUNGRY. Anybody have any advice?

Hi kerrilynn i had the same problem i was obsessed with those pregnancy tests, now i am a week late and i am too afraid to take another test so that it might show up negative. I Suggest you wait a week before taking another test. But in the mean time take care of your body.
