I just moved to the city that I am in and after working for 13 years I decided to go back to college and I do not have insurance. I have not been stressed out at all so my period should not be late because of that. I have a bad history of endometriosis and the doctor told me that it would be very hard for me to get pregnant. I have had six surgeries for it the last one was in august of 2005.I was actually excited when my period was late but I have taken over 5 different types of tests and all come out negative. My boyfriend is in the process of finding a job where I am going to school. The last time I saw him was January 14th thru the 16th and my last period started December 22nd and ended on December 27th. I do not know if I should just go spend the money on a doctor or wait another couple weeks and take another test. I guess I’m afraid their is something wrong...advice anyone

I know that this posting is a bit late but I thought that someone reading this might like an ANSWER!!! A year ago, every other month, I thought I was pregnant. I was consistently a week late or more. This happened for several months until one day I went to the doctor and had a transv____al ultrasound, in which they found a cyst on my right ovary which was causing the cycle delay. Because it was only on one ovary, this explained why it happened every other month. I recommend always keeping a journal of your cycles, especially if you are trying to get pregnant. I of course am going thru the same thing right now: I am a week late, feel nauseaus, and very light cramping on both sides - negative HPT. So, I know the feeling and the stress and am going crazy about now. But, I know it will pa__s... Hope everyone finds an answer soon.

i'm going through the same thing tera. in fact, i posted a question not long before you, it's under "pregnant?" from what i've researched, there are several reasons you could have a late or missed period, one being that you ovulated late. or you may not have ovulated at all. did you recently go off birth control? have you had a lot of stress lately? these are some factors that may alter your normal ovulation. OR you could be prego and the test was done incorrectly or you're in the smaller percentage of women who receive false negatives. i actually just made an appt. with my doc to have a blood test done. i'm a week late and i KNOW i ovulated over two weeks ago. my suggestion would be to do the same just so you know for sure. hope this helps.

Hi everyone, I am so glad to have found this website and people with same question as the one going around & around in my head! I am 4 days late, b___sts very sore, feeling very heavy. Tired today. Occasional tiny cramps, nothing like the usual with my period. Took 2 tests, both negative. I have, however, been very stressed lately- husband is a recovering drug addict who recently relapsed and is in rehab, refinancing my mortgage, and traveling for work from NJ to Michigan so away from home Mon thru Fri.Did I mention I am stressed out?? We were trying for 2 months to get pregnant. I did use ovulation predictor tests this month and found that I ovulated later in the cycle. I have read a few posts saying that if you ovulate later on in your cycle you may not get a positive result on a home pregnancy test for at least 2 weeks after you are due for your period. So I am trying to relax. We will see!

Good news! I posted a response 5 days ago saying that all my tests were negative......but now they're coming out positive!!! I got 5 negative results and now have gotten 3 positives! I am taking that as a sign that I am actually pregnant. I haven't been to the doctor yet but I don't think you can have false positives, can you???

Well I had a blood test done and it came out negative as well. My last period was on Dec. 22nd thru Dec. 27. I still have not had a period, the Dr. said my endometriosis is flaring up again so I, more than likely I will have to have another surgery in order to get preg. Better luck to every one else.

Hi Excited, congratulations on your great news? How many days were you past your late period before your tests showed up positive? I am now 12 days late for my mp and still negative hpt?

Hi 'yall. I haven't been on this site since Sept 18th, but I thought I'd check in and keep giving encouragement to those of you with late periods, pregnancy symptoms, but negative tests. I was over 10 days late by my calculations with at least 5 negative tests over that course of time before I got a positive. I am now 26 weeks along and due in May. For some of us, it just takes longer to show up on tests. I don't know why, but even those "early detection" tests don't...well..."detect.." So, if you are late, and think you're pregnant. Just test about every 5 days until you get a postive, or your period starts. I'm a firm believer in women's intuition. I knew I was pregnant even when the tests said I wasn't. I felt different and just knew that's what it was. Be patient everyone and give your body a longer time than the package says to!!

I have had almost the exact same results. I’m 8 days late and I took a First Response when I was 3 days late and then again when I was 7 days and both have been negative. I’ve been way super emotional (NOT NORMAL) and really nauseous at night. I have no idea what could be going on.

I have the same problem my period is late for 3 days but the result is stiill negative ?I dont trust this test.

I was 14 days late when the test finally came out positive....well, "late" compared to when I should have my period but I may not have ovulated until late in my cycle and that's why it wasn't coming up positive. I went to the doctor this morning and he sent me for a blood test to confirm. I haven't received the results yet so I am still just a__suming I am pregnant.

i have missed 2 AF coming up to the third all the tests r coming back negative and by now i would have thought if i was pregnant it would show by now. i read ppl have got ovarian cysts so i checked up on it thinking maybe thats what i got to. this is what i found. i dont know if it will interest anyone and it still may not be the case but i think it may be the case for me. What are ovarian cysts? There are two main types of ovarian cysts: functional and abnormal. These are then broken down into several further types, depending on the characteristics and cause. Functional cysts These are the most common type of ovarian cysts. Many ovarian cysts are due to abnormal cell growth, but functional cysts are different, caused mainly by a slight alteration in the normal functioning of the ovary. There are two types of functional cysts: follicular and luteal, which are named according to the half of the cycle at which they appear. Follicular cysts appear in the first half; luteal cysts appear in the second half. Follicular cysts Each month the egg-making follicle of your ovary releases an egg. However, in the case of follicular cysts, the egg is not released and the follicle continues to grow, becoming enlarged and filled with fluid. These cysts can cause few if any symptoms and may only be diagnosed when you are seeing your doctor for other reasons. Normally ultrasound is the form of diagnosis. Luteal cysts This type of cyst develops in the second half of the cycle after the egg has been released (at ovulation). As soon as ovulation has taken place in a normal cycle, the ruptured follicle then develops into the corpus luteum which produces progesterone in anticipation of a pregnancy. If the egg is not fertilised, the corpus luteum withers, progesterone levels fall and a period occurs. A luteal cyst is formed when the corpus luteum fails to wither when it should, and fills with blood instead. Pain or spotting at ovulation (called mittelschmerz) can be caused by the release of blood from the corpus luteum when there is a slight drop in oestrogen at ovulation. best of luck everyone and to the ones trying for a baby i really hope you are pregnant fingers crossed xxxangelxxx

Hey ladies. I had been on and off the patch for several months and my first month back on it was in December (my last period was the 20th of December). I had been wearing it for only 5 days when it fell off. I never got a chance to put a new one on, so about 5 days after that I had breakthrough bleeding. I was expecting to get my period somewhere between the 15th and 17th of January, but it never showed. It's now the 14th of February and I still have yet to get it. I have taken 3 HPT's and have had a urine test at the doctor's, all coming back negative. I'm 18 and a senior in highschool, so needless to say I'm under a little stress, but my periods are always so regular. I sincerely hope I'm not pregnant, as I'm not ready yet. I thought that since I had 4 negative tests that I was good to go, but now reading that some women have had 8 or 9 negatives and still found out they were pregnant is quite discouraging. What do you guys think? Am I stressing or am I probably pregnant? (Also, I'm about a month late now, and have no symptoms. If I was pregnant, wouldn't I have showed symptoms by now?) Thanks for whatever help you guys can give!
