Positive Hpt But Neg Test At The Dr

Ok here is my question. Two days ago i took a hpt first thing in the morning, it was a faint line. Then yesterday afternoon (3;30) I went by my dr. office and took a urnine test, it was neg. I'm due to start today, I have all the symptoms. Have 2 kids, so i know how you feel when your preg. But why did the test come out like that?
