I have been drinking 6 to 8 glasses of wine every night for 3 plus years. I am pregnant now, (1 month) If I stop drinking what are the possibilities of having a sick child?

Regardless of the possibilities of having a sick child, QUIT NOW!!!

There is no choice for mothers -to-be. You are responsible for a healthy child!!! People who want to adopt, they have to go through whole nine yards to prove that they are capable and responsible. I wish they could do something like this for mother-to-be. Otherways unresponsible mothers giving birth to sick childen and then giving them up, or make goverment to pay all their health bills, or leave child to be sick and then that poore human never can have normal future. If you been drinking so much you already at risk, but if STOP RIGHT NOW maybe it's still not too late. Don't take chanses!!!

If you are 1 month pregnant, then you are really only two weeks (gestational). And since it takes 6-14 days for implantation, your baby hasn't been getting alcohol for the entire two weeks. But... it would not be healthy for the baby for you to continue to drink.
