It is very risk to be pregnant after the age of 38 years.

emersonkelly, a good friend of mine just had her 4th child since her 39th birthday. Maybe it is riskier for some women, but a woman in good health will likely be fine. I was 43 at the time of my youngest son's birth, and it was easier than my 1st pregnancy in my 20's.

The father is elated and wants a Baby so badly, he has 2 sons 22,17yr. I am so scared that This will also end in another Misc, They both occured at 9wks... I am just scared to death that once I reach 9 wks something will go wrong again. Please pray for me and all the rest of the Pregnant older Moms!

Hi Tammy,
I just found out I am pregnant week 5, I had a miscarriage about 2 years ago. We are parents of a 4.6 year old little girl. We were not expecting to be pregnant and have not truly celebrated due to our miscarriage and not sure what to expect at 43 years old. During my pregnancy for my 4 year old, they performed several blood test to ensure the baby was developing correctly, i was informed the blood work performed ( cannot recall the medical term) was sufficient without having to the the Amnio.... so ,now that I am older... not sure if I have to the Amnio or the blood work will be sufficient. Since you have been trought it .. would like to know more about it. We are too early to tell what our future holds... but I found this posting forum and I thought what the heck... let's chat. Thank you.

Hi all. I’m 44 soon and just found out I’m pregnant. I have a 14 year old daughter who was conceived via IVF in 2004. I had an ablation July last year to help with heavy periods, so I am beyond shocked to know I’m pregnant. I’m hoping for the best but expecting the worst. Just going to do my best to keep the baby, but from everything I’ve read - the odds are not good.

How did it all work out Sharon? I’m 43 and just took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. I’m scared for so many reasons, the baby’s health, my health, etc. I’m still in a state of shock.
