A bit of info about myself: I'm 39 and this is my 3rd pregnancy. First one ended in miscarriage. My second pregnancy was good until the last 2 months when I started developing preeclampsia and intense itching along with liver problems. My ds was born by emergency c-section in November 2006 and he is the joy of my life. Even though DH and I are both concerned about preeclampsia again we're very excited about our 2nd little one coming.

Hi Perl,Im Fiona and im 43.. my 2nd baby is due in September..My little girl was 2 last week.I too has an emergency section for pre-eclampsia so am anxious too. x

Hi Perl and feebs! can I join you ladies? I'm 43 and lp was Dec 2nd, so I'm about to have a 2nd mp tomorrow. I don't know yet if I'm pregnant or not, but if I am, little bean is due in september as well:) I have a 21 and a 16 yo, so this comes as a big surprise. When did you have your BFP? How are you feeling this week? xxxx

Hi BabySD and Feebs!! I left on the 24th and I just returned a couple days ago from a business trip with dh and somewhere along the way, my baby boy (15 months) and dh and I all got sick so I'm slowly nursing us back to health and that's why I've been slow to get back on this thread but it's nice to see that I'll have some company from older moms like me during this pregnancy. So BabySD: any news? I'm feeling queasy and tired. I crave certain foods and then I taste it and end up not wanting it-weird huh? Feebs: congratulations!!! And belated Happy Birthday to your little girl. Sounds like we're very similar since we both have little tots now and we both had preeclampsia. We'll definitely have to exchange notes. Have you gone to your ob/gyn yet? I had my first ob/gyn appointment the day before my trip but didn't have time to go to the lab. Today I'll be going to the lab for blooddraw and 1 hour glucose testing. I have to do glucose testing because my sister is a diabetic. My First Trimester Screening and first ultrasound will be on February 14th. I'm really nervous about it but really looking forward to it at the same time.

Feebs: when did you find out you had preeclampsia? So you had to deliver early too then? I think I was about 35 weeks when I was told and then had to go to the ob/gyn to get checked twice a week. My c-section was scheduled for week 39 but actually happened week 37. Were you itching terribly also? That's what I fear the most.
