I am 35yrs old and this is my first pregnancy. Everything has been wonderful so far. At 20 wks I had my first sonongram and I was told later by the doctor that after reviewing the photos that she would like to do another sonogram at my next visit just to take a closer look at the brain. The doctor noted that there may be more fluid than usual in the brain ventricles but not to worry that this just warrented a closer look, not really significant enough to alarm her, so she didn't want it to alarm me. Well of course I can think of nothing else and cant wait until my next visit.
Has anyone else ever been told this and what was the outcome? Also, what disease or anomoly could this be an indicator of?

This happened to me in my first pregnancy. My son ended up having hydrocephalus. He had to have a shunt placed in his brain to drain the fluid and is a healthy, happy 8 year old today. A lot of time, though, the ultrasounds show things that aren't there. They'll probably be able to tell more on the next one. Good luck.
