I had my 3rd Vag US on Monday. At the first (5w6d) the fertility specialist I'm working with saw the egg sack and thought she detected a flutter at about 80bpm. At second US (6w6d) had an egg sack but no fetal pole or HB. Ditto for the 3rd US (7w6d). Have another scheduled for next week (9w1d) but the Dr. has begun to talk about MC scenarios. My hcg at 2nd US was 26,000; at the last one it was 28,477. Nurse said the slight increase was OK given that I should be topping out w/hcg at about this point. Projestone is in normal range but I'm taking shots so that's not the greatest indicator. I also have some fibroids and a tilted uterus. I'm 42 and this is my first successful conception at third AI try. I'm getting a little despondent and am not sure what to make of these "mixed" results I'm getting. Any thoughts?

I don't have any advice for you, just want to say that sometimes the heartbeat just starts up and all of a sudden the tech can see everything. I went in for a U/S when I was miscarrying at 9.5 weeks. It took the tech 20 minutes but she could not find the baby, then she did a v____al u/s and after 10 minutes she finally located the baby in the corrrect place, but for some reason it decided to hide for awhile. I did end up miscarrying but the point is that sometimes techs can't see everything. They are only human. Keep your chin up and try to surround yourself with calm and happy thoughts. Baby dust to you along with a big old hug!

I saw my little bean at 5W flat. Not to disappoint you but cross your fingers--hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I wish you all the best, of course and will pray that you will see the HB in your next doctor's visit. Baby dust!!!!
