Hi Ladies ... Apologies for this delayed response, I was caught up with work, month's end is usually busy times for me. PERL - TCM, my prescriptions are in the form of dried herbs and I have to brew them in a Traditional Chinese medicine pot (kind of looks like a kettle made of clay). Each dose of meds consists fo a min 15-20 herbs. However, they do come in forms of pills/solutions/powders which is mainly for common illnesses. In our case, it falls under specialised treatment i.e. somewhat like a RE. My presciptions has a base i.e. there're several herbs that I take on a regular basis. On each consultation( I see my physician on alternate weeks), my physician will take my pulse, examine my tougue/skin, read my BBT chart, ask questions 1) if I was feeling any different 2) what I ate during the 2 weeks 3) how well did I sleep ... basically lifestye etc. And she'll add on or take out some herbs to the presciption ... as of date I haven't had a presciption that's entirely the same, not type or amounts. Same goes for dh but there're bascially very lttle changes for men unless they've been sick or feeling different. For men, they're required to do a SA every 3-6 months... check on the little swimmers : ) for count, motilty and morphology so on. Well, that's the norm here. I think it's very different in the US, Cananda and Europe, phyisicans usually brew the herbs for thier patients. I'm not very sure, I think it comes in a vacuum sealed bag and you just have to put it in the microwave or in a pot of boiling, heat it up and it's ready to drink. Well, there're physicians that does that here but it costly ...an average US$50-80/course of medication per week and depending on the amount/type of herbs required (excluding consultation). By the way ... Tcm prescibed in courses, about 2-3 doses a week. Anyway ... I'm still having a hard time finding out what the herbs are, they're all written in Chinese, last time I read a book in Chinese was in junior colleage, that's almost 20 years now. PERL ... I'm really hoping to get that joggers' pram soon, do up the nursary too and dh wants to fix a playground in our roof garden if I can call it a garden cos we have no grass up there! TRYINGx3 ... thanks for the encouragement : ) I appreciated it. You know ... talking to both you and Perl, has been totally encouraging and I'm feeling less of a failure. I'm sure you're counting down by days now ... I'm so happy for you : ) Have you/dh decided on a name yet??? We had it pick out already, Isaac if it's a boy and Isabelle if it's a girl. Take care : )

what cute names! nope, nothing here...I did write mine down this weekend...we spent SEVERAL hours in the cars the couple of days, but no luck. Thought I had him cornered! Congrats on OPK...hope the towel or pillow works! Funny about the herbs(which I know nothing about)...but had my husband cut back to "straight" vitamins when we were trying, read the ginseng or ginko biloba (don't remember which) could effect swimmers!

Sann congratulations on the +opk. Hope you and your dh have fun baby dancing. : ) Thanks for enlightening me on the TCM, it's very interesting. I live in California where it is becoming more and more common to see a lot a of herbalists and holistic doctors who rely heavily on herbs to help with ailments. My own grandmother and her ancestors (Native Americans) relied completely on herbs. I remember them being used on me when I was a little girl for ear aches, stomach aches, etc---whatever they did, it always worked. In fact, when I miscarried, I wanted it to happen naturally, so I used herbs and tinctures in my teas to help my miscarriage along and then to "strengthen" or "tone" my uterus. But for some reason now that I'm pregnant I try to stay away from all medicines and all herbs if at all possible. I won't even take Tylenol if I have a headache. (just being overly cautious). *****I like both of the baby names you have picked out. We haven't decided on any names yet but I have a long list of possibilities--most of which are names from the Bible (dh and I are both very traditional and we're not going for any trendy or unique baby names). We still have time but I'll have it figured out before November.
