Thank you all so much for your support! I have been doing a little research and so far I plan on insisting on a First Trimester Screening. I will only do the Amnio or CVS if we have any alarming result. Also plan on doing the Quad Marker. I am not familiar with a couple of the terms used here and on other threads. What is an AFP test and what is the difference between a regular ultrasound and a Level 2 Ultrasound.
The morning sickness is worse than it has ever been with any other pregnancy. My br___t are also killing me and I am tired all the time. I guess this means my hormones are functioning well!!

So sorry for the extra thread. I thought I was responding to my original thread and somehow started a new one! Oops... Must be losing brain cells to the baby already. LOL

The quad test is the one a lot of people call the AFP test. Level II ultrasounds are a lot more detailed then regular ultrasounds. They should be done with more advanced equipment than the regular ultrasound. In our City, the ob/gyns send you over to a high risk specialist for the test because he has the best equipment. My dh was impressed and curious and asked about the equipment and its cost and he said a normal ultrasound machine runs around $40,000 or $50,000, and the set up he has cost $199,000. Here, they include a 4-d component at the end which is incredible and the patient gets to watch the whole thing on a big screen mounted on the wall. We also got a video to keep. I loved it.

Hi there. Keep in my mind that the tests often have false positives that in turn can lead to an amnio that comes with a miscarriage threat. My quad screen came back at 1/22 for downs, I was 37 at the time. I didn't do an amnio as there is a risk of m/c and waited it out to find a beautiful baby with no ds at all, but because of the screening, had it on my mind from 16 weeks on. keep that in mind and take your results with a grain of salt. Congrats and Enjoy!
