Work Situation

Oiay all well after a week of the smell from the new brochures in the office, and my husband calling the brochure company over 5 times who then called the printer, and my calls to the March of Dimes and Otis we were told by the printer that the cured state of the UV coating on the brochures poses no health risk. If you could smell it though it is strong, it smells like the old Future floor wax or my coworker said Mop and Glow. My boss finally moved the 20 unopened boxes from behind me into his office which now smells and there are only two stacks of opened brochures on a media rack in the room where I am. I try to keep the windows open as much as possible though my coworker keeps shutting them. I am wondering though if it still smells how can it not be harmful. I mean they tell you when paint is dry or cured stay away until the fumes are gone. Now here they say this is safe even though it smells. I would really like to know if anyone else has been in this position when pregnant. I know there has to be some working in magazines, publishing houses, printing companies etc... I keep feeling very bad about being at work. To make matters worse my coworker is telling my boss he should fire me because I am going to take him to labor court etc over the smell. She even told me she is sick of hearing about me and the pregnancy and that I cannot stand the smell. Other workers told me to pay her no attention but it is a really tough situation. I hope someone can share a similar situation it would really make me feel better since I can find no information on the brochure smell.

did you talk to your OB? If she's not worried than I wouldnt be. I know you're scared and concerned about your baby. But you need to find out from your doctor..and then move on. The people at your work should not be subjected to your situation. I could see how it could get a little old---But I also see why you would worry. So get the answer from the doc. Good Luck!
