Omigod this sucks. i've had it now for about 2 mos. It's getting so bad that I couldn't take the pain anymore tonight and broke down and had a shot of rum in hopes of killing the pain. I know I will probably get some nasty responses for that...but this freakin hurts and tylenol does nothing. I can barely brush my hair, write, or do much of anything with my right hand...and I am an ER Nurse who also needs to be able to start an IV on patients who need them...I can barely do that now !!!! I have other pregnancy related problems too but this one hurts the most. Does anyone else have it?

I am starting to get symptoms of it now. At night my arm and hand falls asleep. I did get it while I was pregnant the last time as well. I am a hairstylist and when my fingers would go numb while wrapping a perm I would drop the comb or roller. It did go away after the baby was born but it was a major pain in the well you know good luck!

I have 5 months old twins and holding them all the time has caused my carpal tunnel syndrome to flare up terribly. I try to keep my hand in a splint as much as possible and when it gets really bad, I wear an ace bandage at night.

I'm a graphic designer and sometimes I need to wrap a heating pad around my right wrist/forearm (secured with a hair scrunchy) while working on 'puter! It's hilarious but it works for pain. So far with the preg. I've not had too much trouble with it. Just my middle fingers....the joints are sooo sore for some unknown reason. BOL

yea it's worse in my right middle finger than anywhere else. I have to take braces with me to work and hope I can function. Usually my hand starts to kill about halfway thru a 12 hr shift. Nursing is a very unforgiving profession and tends not to allow for "light duty" Sounds like being a hairstylist would be murder on the hands as is being forced to work on a computer all the time. Never had carpal tunnel prior to this pregnancy either. Just hope it goes away after bby is born!!!

Yes, it sucks and hurts something fierce!
I not only had it so bad, I had to have surgery when my daughter turned 2.
My best advice...
2 things: 1) DO NOT HAVE THE MAGIC SURGERY TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!! It does NOT work!
2) Do go the pharmacy and get those hand splints. They too...........NOT MAGIC, but VERY helpful. Good luck! :-)
