Congrats Trooperswife!!! Congrats Sophie and welcome to the outside!!! Steffie- I tried to join the facebook group. I got your friend request (which I confirmed and I see you on there. Beautiful pix by the way. Can't wait to see pix of your little one when he/she arrives) and then got the group request. I "confirmed" the group request you sent but can't seem to find it anywhere. I may just be a dummy but how do I get to the group now?? I see my "friends" list but no group list. Do you show me as part of the group? If not, would you mind re-sending me the link/request?? Thanks!!

Hello, Its a different topic..I do not know where to post. But I would like to share my story with you so that any one having this concern would be consoled. I had an ultrasound at 20 weeks and the U/S tech said that everything is fine. However she could not see the heart due to the position of baby. In the evening the Doc office called and said that they found an echogenic spot on sacral spine and asked us to come for another U/S after 2 weeks. we were terrified and the web freaks out, giving all possible negative info of spina bifida etc. But we talked to the Doc before the U/S and she said that she never saw that before. This made us so depressed. Finally the day of U/S and the technician was expressing all possible negative signs in her face and said that there could be an extra bone near spine. that almost killed us. The blood work was negative ruling out any trisomy, neural defects (AFP) or Downs etc. The U/S took 1.30 hrs and she continued to check for the EXTRA BONE. We were freaked out. Finally, the spacialist came in and checked the spine and for the white spot and concluded that its just the shining from one of the spinal vertebrae and nothing to worry. he said that there is no extra bone or any other deformation. We were relieved so much and he just looked like god that moment. I looked for all possible keywords on spine, echogenic area and read several research papers too. Everything freaked us and somehow we were forced to look into negative topics only :). Now this is just a nightmare and we are looking fwd for a healthy baby in August. Hope this helps any of you to feel better.

hello everyone! i havent wrote in awhile, have been unbelievably busy with school, work, and pregnancy!! I have about 7 weeks left of my pregnancy!! I have been going to the doctors every two weeks since last month, and everything is looking great, my doctors has no concerns about the deposit (found a calcium deposit in heart at about 14 weeks prego). I also went and had a 3-d ultra sound done by a friend of mine, who said everything looked and measured great, and her heart was pumping beautifully!! Im still putting everything in God's hand!! I cant wait to meet my little girl!! Hope all is well with everyone!!

Trusting - April 9

hey everyone ..I'm reading through this because I recently had an ultra sound where there was a "bright spot" on my baby's heart. Doctor's don't seem worried.. I'm about to have a level two ultra sound and now had an afp which at first I refused. Anyway I say all that to say I feel like everyone on here talking about leaving things in God's hands is exactly right. No point worrying about the unknown...Although maybe is scary. If we can leave something is God's hands (where it is already) maybe we can really experience His peace.... Thanks for all the posts

Ashleykorn - nice to see you on here again and it looks like everything is going great. That was cool you got to see 3D of your little girl Trusting - you have to do want you need to do to get your through the pregnancy. I didn't have any bloodwork done but have had follow up u/s (not for EIF but for a fibroid) and everything still looks good. Not to pressure either one of you but if you are on Facebook already a bunch of us started a support group. A bunch of us are from this board and a couple other moms from another board. We even have two moms that have delivered healthy babies already so it keeps us strong and hopeful. If you are interested you can email me at steffie92_bfas "at" yahoo.com and I'll help you get on the group, if not, not a big deal but just thought I'd throw it out there. There are 18 of us in the group so far.

I went for my 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday. I was so excited and nervous and now I'm just terrified. I'm calmed by how many woman unfortunately have been through the same ordeal. This is my first pregnancy and I'll be 30 a month before my baby girl is born. All other previous blood work came back negative for DS but it's still hard to think that there may be something wrong. Although I can't image going through pregnancy without this new technology we have today, sometimes you wonder if it causes more grief than necessary. Wishing everyone a well deserving, happy and healthy pregnancy. May our babies be born as blessed as we are.

Hi everyone. Well, we had our baby girl on 4/17 at 1:45pm. Her name is Juliette and despite the focus that I worried so much about she is absolutely perfect. She weighed 8.0 lbs. and was 21 1/4 inches long. My labor was not THAT bad in retrospect, and in all it took me 45 minutes to push. Ladies, please keep the faith. I will not tell you not to worry because you will, I certainly worried the entire time. But believe me that the odds are GREATLY in your favor. I will continue to come back and see all the other success stories. PS Renatka....do you hapen to be Polish? We are too...

You can contact me at steffie92_bfas "at" yahoo.com if you are interested. wannalil1 - congrats again!! Now put all the fears and worry behind you and enjoy your lil girl!!! Congratulation ,to all mom out there; Ifound this forum when it was too late so at 21 weeks because of an eif an a club foot Idecided to have an ammio ,evrything came back ok but I was a wreck for the waiting period I was going to carry the pregnancy anyway but Ihad to know and prepare myself; As some of you know my baby was stillborn on the day of my c section back in Jan 09 due to un umbilical cord accident.I know many of you have faith in God but believe me how much it hurts when you hear say it was in God's plan or something to that effect , I too believe in some kind of afterlife and that my bab Jake is an angel in heaven but I DO NOT BELIVE GOD plan for such tragedy because that's what a baby's death is .If it is your baby the one who dies and you the one who suffers the loss you''ll understand that there is no confort in hearing it was God way. Thank you and best wishes.

Trusting - April 21

wow paolan i'm so sorry. Noone can give soem cookie cutter response to that. I cannot imagine... and sometimes I bet people's opinions and comments can hurt. However I know for sure that God is not what we some times imagine.. HE is NOT distant, He is NOT indifferent... nearer and more compa__sionate than we can probably ever understand. There is a scripture that says His peace pa__ses all understanding... I pray you can know that peace. Anyway I wonder if I could share this with a few good friends to also pray for you and your family?... Hope to hear from you soon

hey everyone. i just had my 20 week US today and the midwife told me the US tech found a "shadow" on the baby's heart. is that the same as an "EIF" that i have seen people post about? i am 26, my husband is 27, both healthy, and neither my husband nor i have any family hx. of DS. the midwife never mentioned DS and said if it was her in my shoes she would not worry, but yet she still is sending me to a perinatologist to have another US in 2-4 weeks. i am worried sick. we did not have any AFP testing done, which i now regret. and everything else today looked completely normal she said (long femur, normal head, etc). the midwife even said structurally the heart looks fine and the bloodflow appears to be normal. has anyone else been told their baby had a "shadow"? how has everything turned out for you? thanks.

krbrewer1 - April 29

Hi everyone. I am joining you again for the 2nd go round. I posted a month or so ago and retold my story. My son (now almost 14 months) had the focus and was born healthy and perfect. In fact, his focus actually "faded" by my 30 week ultrasound. I went yesterday for the 2nd ultrasound for my screenings for baby no 2 (which we also learned wa__s a boy yesterday). I am 18 weeks pregnant. Well, this time we have 2 spots. I went to ths same perinatologist as I did with my first son--it seems this time he played it down more than he did last time even. I am not stressed about it at all--mainly because my first son was healthy and I hear all your good news stories every day as well. However, I am back to join you all again! Let's keep our heads up and enjoy our pregnancies. Congrats STEFFIE92S!!
