Hi lovemy3,
Thank you so much for inviting me to come to this post. My hubby and I havent tried to start for number 2 yet but it only took me about two months to conceive my son and I was 34 but now am 36. I just found it interesting that the doctor told me it maybe harder to conceive because I was still b___stfeeding but my body feels like its ready to go again only because the cla__sic symptoms are back including the presence of cm and my drive. We will probably start trying in December again and see how it goes!

So sorry - just realised we've got a new recruit! Welcome KLM - great to have you aboard and looking forward to chatting with you. Oh and lovemy3 - thanks for the rea__surance about my changing EDD. I'm just putting 2 and 2 together and making 5,346 and a half as usual - you see my bean isn't a big "mover" (or shaker for that matter!!) so when I heard the date had changed as well I was naturally a bit concerned. However, I'm pretty sure it's still to early to feel any real kicks and from what I've read, when they start and begin to hurt it's more likely I'll be asking them to stop!! LOL!!! Can't have it both ways can I? That's all for now - til later!

Hi all,
Not sure when I will be ovulating again as I will have to either get an OPK kit to find out but so far it seems like my body is telling me that it is either back to normal or getting ready. Some helpful advice though I used a Basal Thermometer and went to a site called fertilityfriend.com to get pregnant with my first and it seemed to work wonders. The thermometer is realatively cheap but you have to take the temperature first thing in the morning and then chart it and after a few months it will be easier to guess when is the best time to try and I feel that it will also tell if you are ovulating or not. I took my temp this morning and so far not ovulating but I will be tracking it again. So let me know if any of you give this a try as well!!!

Hello girls : ) : ) : ) I have good news ... my baby girl's measurements are all fine and the doc said he found nothing to be concerned with : ) Ohhhhh finally .... I'm so glad all these "fetal tests/measurements thingy" are all over and done with : ) : ) : ) That's loads off our minds knowing our baby girl is doing fine ..... an early Christmas present for me and Dh. I'm doing pretty good too, blood pressure/urine tested fine and I gain a little more weight since Oct 20th (last visit with my ob/gynae) .... 2.4kg/5.28lbs a little over by 1kg/1.98lbs but my ob/gynae said nothing to worry about since I have not gain excess weight. Anyway she said .... ideally pregnant mommies should put about an average 1.5kg/3.3lbs every month. I only put on about 3.6kg/7.92lbs in 20 weeks, (I think I'm a little under though she said feels that I'm doing good) ****Any thoughts, Ladies???????? Am I not gaining enough weight ???????***** Lovemy3 --- So glad that you're back to your old self ... all cheery and positive : ) KLM --- Welcome !!!!!!! Glad that you could join : ) Re : TTC while Breastfeeding ....If I remembered(correctly) my Tcm physician and ob/gymae said it had something to do with your prolactin levels(mainly) and the rest of the other hormones being less active during the "b___stfeeding period" thus making it a little harder to get pg. Anyway ... I would like to find out more also, that's something for us to research on when ttc again. Re : Temping - I found it really helpful with pinning down the ov days before testing with opk and according to my Tcm physician ... our temps tells alot about our hormones levels too. Hope all is well with everyone else : )

Hi Hopeful --- Oh! doing Level 2 (Anomaly Scan) was totally awesomeeeeeeeeee and excitingggggggggg !!!!!!!!!! We got see our baby girl on the monitor for over half an hour : ) : ) : ) We saw her "playing" with her fingers, kicking her 2 little feet, turning her head, swallowing and chancing position. She was so "hyper active" (I think she takes after her "hyper active" daddy .. hahaha) the doc had a hard time taking her measurements and took him a while to get good/clear pictures too (LOL). I can't for wait you and the rest when it's your turns : ) Re : Fetal Measurements ---- 1)Biparietal diameter or BPD 2)Head circ_mference - HC 3)Cisterna Magna - Cm 4)Transcerebellar diameter - TCD 5)IOD 6)Nuchal oedema 7)Abdominal circ_mference - AC 8)Femur lenght - FL 9)Humerus 10 )L. Foot 11)R. Foot 12)BPD/FL 13)Va/H 14)Vp/H 15)Head/Abdomen - HC/AC 16)Est. Fetal weight - (Hadlock (BPD-HC-AC-FL)) And he checked - Heart action, fetal movements, cephalic I, amniotic fluid, cord(vessels), planenta and gentalia For Fetal anatomy (heart chambers and outflow) and take measurements of the RVD, LVD, aorta and pulmonary artery. Then, he looked for the visibility and appearence of the following : head, brain, orbits, lips, spine, neck and skin, chest, abdominal wall, gastro-intestinal tract, kidneys and bladder, skeleton. Lastly , with the doppler he checked the the flow of the left and right Uterine Artery. Well ... that's what it states on the a__sessment report. Report also came back with a set of 12 graphs/measurements that were taken and each graph the "normal growth ranges" are also indicated as a guideline. I'm a little confused with some of the terms/abbrevations stated in the report, hope I didn't confused you or did I? Well, the only words ... my Dh and I wanted to hear from the doc was our little girl was doing fine (heeheehee) .... we didn't ask for a very detailed explanation. (I'll probably research on it when I have some time this weekend.) By the way .... I'm not sure if it's the same a__sessments are done anywhere else but what I do know it's relative the same in practice (at least 95% similar) as in the US and UK cos our Fetal specialist did his formal training in the UK and US. Re : EDD --- My date haven't changed but Fetal measurements indicates our baby girl is about a week behind, doc said it's pretty common and no cause for any concerns (pretty much like what LM3 had said) In my post on part #10 ... I made a mistake with my dates again, I'm only 20wks +2dys (per doc's calculation) nevertheless still pa__s "halfway mark" Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!! That's all for now ..... been a chatter box today : ) TTYL

Hi Sann... glad everything is going so well. That must be a big relief. I wish I was where you are at right now. Now I'm more stressed than I've been this whole pregnancy, with no end in site until our Level 2 in mid January. We decided to do the amnio this coming Tuesday, and I had a question for you - do I remember correctly that you went on bedrest after the amnio, and if so, for how long? My dr only said I'd need to rest for a day, but I'm prepared to stay in bed all week if it would reduce any possible complications. Welcome, KLM, and hi to all...

Goodness we've all been quiet recently. I wonder if it's the onset of winter or Christmas which means we're all too cold or too busy to write. Or perhaps it's because we're all so well that we've nothing to report!! Well - all of the above are true for me so I'm full of excuses!! LOL!!! However, today I really felt like my pregnancy bump was looking like a real one (!!) as up until now it has looked and felt like a beer belly!!! LOL!!! I'm really quite proud of it which is a great feeling. How about the rest of you? Sann - thank you so much for your run down of the Level 2. Although it seems very technical, I'm sure it'll all make sense when I come to having mine so it's a good list to take with me for discussion. Thank you for that. Also thanks to you and lovemy3 for rea__suring me about my dates and lack of real movement feelings - it's great to hear it from people who've already been through it. I got a little worried about my weight gain yesterday (especially when you seem to have it so wonderfully under control - well done to you!) but I've spoken to my doctor, listened to other mums and read other posts on the internet which has pretty much clarified that I shouldn't worry too much. I'm sure it's all fine but I'll keep an eye on it just to be sure. I wonder whether it may have something to do with my underactive thyroid so I'm having that checked with my GP on Monday. Goodness so much to think about and I haven't even really started with Christmas preparations or the "nesting" issue. Help - I think it's all going to come at once and I've two different visits from family members to fit in between now and the end of February too! Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to hibernate! Anyway, must go - stuff to do as usual. Hope everyone is well. TTYL!

Oops - pregnancy brain strikes again - I forgot to reply to Val.................... I am so sorry that you're feeling so stressed. It's totally understandable but try your best to think as positively as you usually do and put your trust in your doctors. I know you've had a tough decision about the amnio but remember that you have made this choice for all the proper reasons and I think you're right to go ahead with it. It will put your mind at ease. As far as bedrest goes - from what I read you need at least 24 hours doing NOTHING but the more the merrier I would say. So take what you can get!! (I know you're a very busy woman so try not to get back into work too soon!) Much luck to you and your husband and my thoughts are with you as ever. Big Hugs. XOXOXOXOX

HOPEFUL, thanks for your support. And your beer belly comment made me laugh! I hope you do start feeling your little one soon. And I am planning to not work Tuesday or Wednesday. (Thursday and Friday I only have a couple of students, one of whom comes to my house, so it should be fine). Another tough thing is that I'm self employed so I'm losing a fair amount of income by not working those 2 days, but we don't want to wait for the test, so there's really no other option, especially since I'm planning to lay low for several days. Also, we're travelling for Christmas and I want plenty of time to heal before then. It has been quiet today. KD and LM3, how are you both doing? And everyone else?

Hi girls : ) Oh Val --- Sorry you're feeling stressed : ( I understand your concerns but do try and keep it under control. I'm telling you what the other ladies told before I did amnio ..... focus on the thought that you'll be getting to see your little one the whole time during the procedure .... it'll be awesome watching him/her. Re : Bedrest after amnio. The norm would be 24 to 48 hours of bedrest ... you can move around a little but nothing physically taxing for at least the first 24 hours. You're right, I did a whole week of bedrest cos my doc wanted to be extremely safe he recommmend it to all his patients if they can afford the time (he feels 24 to 48 hours is a lttle short) I was also given antibotics to avoid infections and a different kind/dose of progesterone (made me drowsy in order for me to rest) to help strengthen the pregnancy after amnio. I'm sure your doc will fill you in with the details on what to look out for after amnio procedure i.e. slight cramping for the first couple of hours, leakage of amniotic fluid and catch your temperature etc. (I didn't had any of those at all not even the crampings so can't tell you what it feels like) I'm quite sure it'll be a load of yours and your Dh's mind and I'm sure you're in good hands too. Best of all best wishes to you and your Dh. Keep us updated ... yah : ) Big hugs : ) Hopeful --- You're most welcome : ) : ) : ) Don't worry about the weight thing ... it's not putting on enough that should be a concern to our babies' developement/health and putting on excessive weight that's going to cause a concern for mommies to be. Re : Getting thyroid checked again, I think it's a great move. You just reminded me (cos I'm borderline hypo) to ask my ob/gynae about it (on my next visit). How are the rest of you doing? Have a great weekend : )
