Hello all! Yet again this is going to be a short post as I'm COMPLETELY exhausted. The shower on Saturday was PHENOMENAL - the generosity of everyone who came and the LOVELY comments they made in the book were both totally overwhelming. I reckon we had about 60 guests, way too much food and a whole lot of fun!! I lasted until 11pm (amazed with myself!!!!!!) but the party raged on into the wee hours!! (I told you it wouldn't be a traditional shower didn't I? Well it wasn't but everyone had a great time!!) This morning I had just about recovered enough (blasting headache!!) to sort through all the wonderful gifts and make a "still need" list - it was VERY short!!! How fantastic! Now I have to write 38 thank-you letters - it's the least I can do! Of course, I still have things that I must get before the baby arrives (and this afternoon I started to tackle what's left to buy) but I'm pretty sorted for the first 3 months. Wish I had more energy to write more for you - my dear friends - but I've got an early start in the morning (urine test at doctor WITHOUT BREAKFAST - YUK!!!!!^#%#$_^(%#$)(%(%$_$$$*&*****!!!!!!!!!) Also, I'm still entertaining my mum and her husband and that's tiring even though they're very understanding and easy to look after!! I promise you all that I'll be back to my old self soon but, needless to say, I'm really glad everyone's sounding well (despite insensitive mums and morning sickness - sorry about that you two!) and I'm keeping track of you all even if I don't have time to respond. Big Hugs to you all and I hope to stop being so "me-ish" VERY SOON! Love XOXOXOXOX

TTC#3....I did Gonal F at the lowest dose. Basically you give yourself a shot everyday in the belly (doesn't hurt at all) and the doctor monitors the growth of your follicles (eggs are inside of follicles). Once the follicles reach a certain size, you are given an HCG shot to make you ovulate, and then Intrauterine Insemination was done two days in a row. The process worked like a charm! It cost me about $1600 altogether but was worth every penny. Hopeful, glad to hear your shower was awesome and that mom's visit is keeping you busy. I went to the doctor yesterday for a cervix check and got bad news. My cervix is shorter than it was 2 weeks ago when he put me on bedrest. It's my fault though because I only spent a week laying around. After one week of bedrest my cervix had gone from 1.8 to 2.2 and is now back to 1.6. He said if I don't stay in bed this time he is going to have to put me in the hospital. So, yesterday I spent the entire day and night in bed after my appointment and thought I was going to go nuts. I was so d__n uncomfortable and really only slept a few hours. I also had some restlessness, which I had to fight and just stay there. Do I even have to tell you I broke down crying at one point out of total frustration? So, if I don't post much it's because I am on the couch or in bed following docotr's orders, but I will try to post at least once a day and catch up on you guys.

H&E - great to hear you had an awesome shower. You made me chuckle with the their easy to take care of!
Tracy - take it easy girl & get off those feet. sorry you have to have bed rest. Is that the typical procedure for iui & ivf. Is it typical to have 2 iui's in a row? Me & soon to be dh will have to have ivf or even with icsi due to his sperm but all is very interesting to me.
Im still waiting to O - cd 11

howdy ladies! COL, sorry about the m/s but it is a good sign. Nothing really helped my nausea during the first trimester. Just try to stay hydrated, and try eating different kinds of foods until you find some that you like. (I ate a lot of french fries during the first 10 weeks, but still didn't gain any weight!) I think I also ate bananas and string cheese. I took Unisom (an over-the counter sleep aid) during weeks 15-20 or so... ask your doctor if she/he recommends it. It definitely helped stop the vomiting and also helped me sleep better. I didn't take it during the first trimester though. I usually only took up to 1/2 a tablet each night. Just be careful not to end up dehydrated... And I'm glad you saw the heartbeat! TRACY, sorry about the bedrest, but you stay put woman! Can you rent a ton of videos and get a bunch of library books? I keep putting off crochet projects in case I have to go on bedrest at some point. Maybe you can teach yourself how to crochet? It's really not hard and it's kind of satisfying to create little hats and booties for the baby. HOPEFUL, sounds like you had a great time and that you are very prepared now - that's great! TTC#3, hope you o soon... Not much new to report. Had a physical therapy appt yesterday and the therapist gave me a support belt thing and a bunch of exercises to help the ligament and back pain. It was really odd... she had me lie on my back and I got totally nauseous. Then she had me lie on my stomach (with a pregancy pillow beneath) and I got nauseous again! Guess I'm just not used to those positions anymore. Hope everyone has a good day...

Hi ladies. Sorry to say, my post won't be too upbeat today. I went in to the urgent care on Sat morning and have a flaming UTI-yahh!! It's been keeping me up at night and the antibiotics are making me nauseated so it's hard to stomach eating anything. Had a rough weekend, my 16 yr old ds decided to borrow my van and stay out all night Sat night. Didn't get much sleep. Fun times I tell ya. Sometimes I get overwhelmed at the thought of starting all over again. Don't get me wrong-I can't wait to hold this baby boy in my arms, but some days it just feels like a lot on my shoulders. I'm looking forward to the baby stage and I think I'll milk it as long as I can! It gets better when they can dress themselves and go to the bathroom, but once the talking begins...lol. Anyways, Hopeful, so glad you're shower went off so well, you must be just exhausted from all the excitement! Tracy-such a bummer about bedrest. I don't blame you one bit for crying-let them fall, it's okay to be angry about it. Val-sounds like you're doing well, I'm glad. Did the support belt help? They were looking at giving me one, but ugghhh-looks uncomfortable. COL-congrats on hearing the hb!!! I'm soooo happy for you. I'm sure you'll still worry, but the chances of m/c go way down with a heartbeat, so that's just great news! Punkin-congrats on your date moving up! I think I'm the only frequent post'er on here that's due in June now. Wow, time flies, doesn't it? Glad everything looks good though. Loved, you'll be going any time now huh? Have you been able to get any walks in? Weather here is a lot of snow and cold. It's supposed to warm up soon-can't wait-could definitely use some sunshine! TTC good luck on finding a new place-never much fun when it's a have-to-do-now kind of a thing. Any signs of o'ing? Hope this is your month! hugs to everyone...

TTC.....I am b__wing baby dust up the east coast via US highway 1. COL....I can't tell you how happy I am that you saw the heart beat. Still, take it easy no matter what. Nurture your body, and don't over-do anything. I have to see the dietician this afternoon for the GD. I have already lost about 3 pounds since cutting out junk a few days ago. My FFN (leaking) test from Monday came back negative again. Good thing. I'll catch up more later.

Good Morning Ladies! My ultrasound when well, no changes since last time which I guess is a good sign since there was no increase in fluid. Even though the doctors have told me that he is not in any discomfort I can't help but worry that he is! Must just be the mom thing! worry, worry, worry!!! We went for a walk on Sunday however it didn't last long, it is freezing here! Hopefully it will warm up by the end of the week. Emotions have taken over again, the tears are back! From what I have read a lot of women get emotional towards the end of their pregnancy. Since my pregnancies have never gone this far it might be why this is my first time experiencing this. Tracy88, how are you holding up? Does your daughter's movement feel more like elbows and knees these days as she gets bigger? It is frustrating when they are not moving around as much as you would like! Have you found any food or drink that gets her squirming? Babymakes5 I know what you mean about feeling stretched thin. My oldest son and I do try to make special time together however he is at that teenage stage where it is not always cool to hang out with Mom. My 13 month old takes a lot of time which frightens me the most since the two boys will be so close in age I want to make sure that I do my best for both. It will all fall into place we will just have to find our way. Who know’s maybe we will have some tips for each other! Val sorry to hear about your mom.. that must be tough. Once you hold your baby in your arms you'll be so full of love you won't think about anything else. I am measuring two weeks ahead also. Being so close to my delivery date makes me hope he shows up soon. TCC #335. How was your ice cream? Hope it works Loads of baby dust coming your way. COL seeing the heartbeat is wonderful news! The relief you feel when you see that tiny heart beating is amazing. Hopeful and Excited, have you managed to sort through all your gifts yet? It will be great if you have a short list so you have less to worry about.

TTC#3........the FFN test is Fetal Fibronectin and yes, it just determines if there is amniotic fluid leaking out through the cervix. Loved, she does feel more like she is sc___ping her elbow along the wall of my belly and stuff. Yesterday she was crazy active, but today her movements have been far less. Maybe she was just getting comfy. She is probably exhausted too since I am not sleeping anymore. I'm so glad you are still hanging in there. I have been very emotional too. I'm sure my lack of sleep is contributing to my emotional state. The doc called me in a script for something to help me rest, even if it's just for one night, but now I'm too scared to take it. Anything that makes me tired is sure to make the baby tired, and that freaks me out. I'll probably just take it once and see what happens. I really need sleep bad. Hang in there girl and let us know if you go to have that baby boy!

Tracy sorry you are having such a rough time. Try to take the prescription for at least one night and give yourself some sleep. Gravol works the same way as a sleeping pill also. My doctor recommended taking two before bed with my last pregnancy (gallbladder problems) In hospital each night I was given a pill to help me sleep. The guilt is very hard to deal with; do you have a pediatrician you could talk to? Speaking with my son's doctor made me feel so much better about taking any kind of medication. My baby boy was kicking and squirming so much that I thought he was fighting to find his way out. Yesterday it took some poking to get him moving…sounds mean I’m sure but I needed to rea__sure myself he was ok!
