Argh - the hospital didn't have the test results. And the Seattle lab where the doctor might have sent the test doesn't give out results except to the requesting doctor. So I guess I'm going to take the darn antibiotics - I'm too spooked by the thought of preterm labor not to. On the plus side, I scheduled a free 30 minute ma__sage for next Friday with a therapist at the PT office - yay! And the physical therapist did about a 10 minute ma__sage on my back today, so that feels really good now! And dh is feeling better (he was feeling poorly last night and this morning) so we get to go out to happy hour for dinner and then to a party and our friends' farm - yay! Hope everyone has a great weekend...

hey all!!! glad to hear everyone is pretty much doing OK....i am starting to get really excited because i only have 11 more weekends to work and i will have my baby boy......(i only work weekends and OK i am at work now and bored so i counted to see how many left) and that makes it seem so much closer......tracy hope you have found your rocker....i personally dont have room in their room for a rocker see we have a 3 bedroom house and my 16 y/o son is in one room so my DD and this baby will have to share for a while just 2-3 yrs and we can move them when my oldest leaves home (sniff sniff) or see about getting a bigger house we will see when it gets here and how money is then......i will just use the rocker/recliner in the living room ...it worked for DD so it will again......cant remember who said it but the comment about someone removing the blanket to peek at the baby while mom was BF i would have slapped someone.....i am over weight and very nervous about BF especially in public.....i am so afraid that i will accidentally flash someone on isle 9 or perverted BIL .....so for someone to just take a peek i would hit them!!!!! i am still confused if i want to try to BF or not....i didnt with my son and he would have been a wonderful b___st baby he rooted all the time and i would pour and he could cry and i would pour......i was bearly 18 and noone talked about it then and i didnt have the info that i do now.....and i had heard comments (from ex's side of the family that it was gross and s_xual to let your baby do that...and like i said i was 18 and easily swayed then so i didnt) then with DD i was going to until i read some horror stories online about nipple soreness, b___st infections, engorgement and alot of painful things......and i have to return to work after 6 weeks and as i think i have told yall before i dispatch for a police dept as well as fire dept and medics so i am in public view 100% of my shift and i cant take a break to go pump....we dont get a set break because of the nature of my work i have been here 2 hrs and 8 min and i have answered the phone twice and dispatched my officer on one call that took maybe 15 mins for him to complete the rest of the time i have been online reading and catching up on this post and watching TV.......the officers are in and out of the station all shift and the public can walk in anytime for any reason to file complaints or make bonf for someone so i dont have anywhere to pump and from what i understand i cant go 8 hrs w/o pumping or BF..........so i am so undecided....and i know alot of people say formula is bad but i have a very healthy 16 y/o that was formula fed and a very healthy 16 month old that was FF also she has had 1 bout with a cold/sniffles and 1 with a stomach virus that lasted 8-12 hrs and was over.......i have a friend that has a neighbor that BF her baby and she is like 20 mos and she has been sick alot........and even in the hospital once so i know it is healthier to BF dont get me wrong but just because you BF is not going to be 100% that your child will never get sick...and with DD i never leaked a drop so i dont know i could have BF her.....but this is it for me and DH so i would at least like to try because if i dont i may be something i regret later when we cant have anymore...........sorry for such of a me post but i just got started and didnt know where to stop any advice or suggestions would be great......love you all and talk to you soon

Hey there punkin. Good to hear you sounding so excited. Not long now is it?!! Re. b___st vs. bottle. I've definitely decided to b___stfeed. My reasons? I don't want to miss out on an opportunity, it's natural and I'm too mean to buy formular!! LOL!! HOWEVER, I see NOTHING wrong with bottlefeeding. Plenty of children have been fed that way for years and there's nothing wrong with them. Also - it's important for us all to remain open-minded as we might find ourselves having to bottle feed because that's what the baby CHOOSES. We cannot really know in advance how it will be for us either. I think you should go with what makes you comfortable and what's possible with your work schedule and try not to worry if you're "doing the right thing" - what feels right to you is always the best way to go. Good luck with your choice and I'm behind you all the way. XOXOXOX

lovemy3 - March 18

Good morning all. Hope you are all well. Sounds like things are progressing and time ticks on. Hopeful..was right on keeping your options open as you never know how it will work out b___st or bottle. For my 3 I b___stfed and didn't have a problem with it. I did them all till age 1 and it was great. So, we have 1 more day of bding left and am officially on the 2ww. this month has bveen a little different. My last af lasted 6 days compared to the normal 2 or 3 and this positive surge came with no pain at all. So maybe thats a good sign, I hope. So, say a prayer for me, over the next 2 weeks. Hugs, xoxo

Val - March 18

hi all! TRACY, I read on another thread that your RLS is better - I'm so glad! PUNKIN, the bf vs bb decision is definitely a personal one, but I'm wondering if your employer would let you take a break to pump if you needed to? What do you do if you have to go to the bathroom during your shift? Does someone cover the phone/desk for you then? I don't know if employment laws for your state say anything about that or about breaks in general. It sounds like your other kids did fine with formula, so that may be the easiest way to go if you don't want to make waves at work. I agree with Hopeful - go with what feels right for you. LM3- I'm sending you good thoughts for this cycle. Not much new to report here. Have had a very social weekend and I'm looking forward to staying home today and catching up on some computer work. Cheers!

punkin01 - March 18

hey all!!! thanks so much for your responses H&E and LM3 i think i am going to at least give it a try until 4-6 weeks then i can at least say i had the experience and chance to ......i want to try at least because with the others i didnt and i kinda regret it .....since you both have BF in the past do you think it will take long to dry it up so i can go back in 6 weeks???.....someone even suggested that i can "train" my body so to speak to only produce milk at certain times and not at others like for the 8 hrs i am at work do either one of you know about this.....i spoke to a lactation lady at my hospital and she said BF was a full time thing not a part time .....but i have left a message to get another one to call me back because i heard that lady i spoke with is one that is BF or nothing anything else is "abuse" so to speak.........val-----yes going to the restroom is difficult at times but if i just cant hold it until an officer can come in off the road to watch the desk or they are busy i can take a portable radio and hurry!!!! but i cant answer the phone or check anything on the computer so it is a HURRY up thing.......not a sit back and pump thing at all ....i had thought about changing over to work 3rd because less people come in and less officers and they stay out of the station as much as possible and i could pump easier but i really hate working 3rd shift and i dont like the group of officers at all....my group and i get along great and they look after me being preggo and all.........so i dont know how it will work out but thanks so much for your words of encouragement and i think i will give it a shot......hoope all is well with everyone bye

lovemy3 - March 19

Good morning all. Punkin, not sure about the raining your milk stuff. I know you only reprodue what you use. Like, if you only feel once a day, you will have little milk. the more you feed , the mopre milk you have. Not much new here. In the 2ww now, I guess, a couple days left of bding to be on the safe side.

TTC#3@35 - March 19

Hi ladies- good to see no birth stories yet.

Hopeful and excited - March 20

Question - does anyone else's Bean get hiccups all the time (at least that's what it feel like to me - a constant thud that defintely isn't movement)? Have you found a remedy? It was driving me nuts last night and I tried changing positions and going for a little walk but it didn't stop until my husband put his warm hand on my tummy - maybe that's the remedy? Anyway, not much news from me really except to say that I've just finished putting away all the washed clothes etc. What a huge amount of stuff!! I have to go and buy another clothes line so that I don't run out of space the next time!! LOL!!!! Nothing else to report. How about you? ********* Tracy - thanks for the advice about the positioning of the crib. I think it'll be fine where it is and I'll ask the midwife when she comes for her first visit after the Bean's home. How are you doing? How's the bed rest going? What about the house etc. Hope all is well and not too stressful. BM5 - on the same(ish) note.............I've been told that the baby should now sleep on it's back with no blankets or pillows (a sleeping bag thing without a hood is recommended) but you can, if you want, prop it's side up a little bit with a rolled up receiving blanket but it's not necessary and, to me, seems completely pointless! Hope that answers your question. Are you well - how are the aches and pains? Hope that work is not too stressful. Val - Sorry to hear about not getting the test results and having to take the antibiotics anyway. I'm sure it'll be fine. One thing's for sure - the ma__sage and dinner at friends will help you feel better. How were they? Fun and relaxing I hope. Punkin - Glad to hear you're going to give b___stfeeding a go. Sorry I can't be any more help though as I haven't done it myself before (this is my first baby) so I can't give you advice about when to pump etc. However, there are several mum's here who I'm sure will give you some information. lovemy3 and TTC - are you both on the 2ww now? Much much luck to you and Baby Dust coming your way. Glad to hear you're both sounding good. lovemy3 - how's the weight loss going? Don't forget to give us updates so we can support you through it all!! How's everyone else today? Lovedblessings - are you still hanging in there? Col - how are you doing - long time no hear? and Sann/Tylersmommy - update soon PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!! ******* That's all from me - looking forward to hearing all your news. TTYL XOXOXOXOX

Hopeful, my wee-one gets hiccups all the time, at least once or twice a day. I know you want a remedy and it may drive you nuts, but it is so good for their lung development. That's what i think of every time I feel my b___t or VJJ pulsating as if to a beat!!! It usually only lasts for about 15 minutes or so at a time. I went to the doc yesterday for a check-up. Cervix is very short at 1.1 to 1.6. Ten days ago it was 1.6 to 1.9 and a week before that it was 1.9 to 2.2. I was being really good about bed rest until the weekend, and I think that's what screwed me. I didn't think I was doing too much, but apparently it was. DH made me cancel the chair I got from Kmart and order the one I really wanted from PBKids. He made a joke that I would rock once in the Kmart chair and it would break, and then told me to get the good one. I wasted no time ordering it! I got the Lullaby rocker in brushed green twill from PBKids. Thank God I get a discount there or I would have never gotten such a nice chair. No news yet on the house front. Hoping to hear something from DH's dad soon, even if it means that we need to rent for another year or so, because then we will rent a house in the neighborhood we like anyway. We just need word on what's going on so we can get the hell out of here. Where is Lovedblessings???? I read somewhere that when you cradle an infant in your arms or when they are laying flat on their back, that they have the sensation that they are falling, so to prop them on their side while you are holding them. As far as when they are sleeping, I know they won't know the difference because they are asleep, and I don't think I will want to put extra blankets and such in the crib, so I'm sure she will be fine without propping then. Does that make sense? ANYWAY....what's your guys opinion on Cord Blood Banking??? Imagine that money is no object........how do you feel about it? Baby dust to the TTC'ers!!!

Tracy88 - March 20

Also meant to mention that I feel those hiccups in my "privates" because the head is way down there. The U/S tech had to measure bean's head yesterday v____ally because it was so low. I will be surprised if this child goes full term. In fact, after reading about my condition, very few do. I'll place a wager on anywhere from 34 to 37 weeks as to when she will show up! Oh, and she weighs 3.8 pounds. I have lost weight due to the GD while she is gaining, and my weight still came up less than my last appt. ten days ago.

Val - March 20

I've been feeling those hiccups down low also! Pretty weird. Usually not more than once a day though, and usually in the early morning. HOPEFUL, my newborn care teacher mentioned propping the baby on his side with a rolled blanket yesterday in the newborn care cla__s. She said that sometimes it's good if the baby spits up a lot - it lets it drip out of the side of the mouth, rather than choking on it. (eek) TRACY, glad you're getting your chair! I'm taking my las antibiotic today. I'm much more calm than I was last week. Just trying to take everything one day at a time. I think some of the stress was the m/c fear coming back. After waiting so long for this first baby, I get worried that something will happen at the last minute. But I'm determined to stay positive and think good thoughts. Gotta get to work (only 2 days until spring break - yay!) Hope everyone has a great day.

Lovedblessings - March 20

Hi Ladies, Still here!!! My little guy was sick and my nesting instincts have gone crazy. This weekend I was busy cooking up a storm, meals for the family while I'm in hosptial and some for once we are back home. (any good receipes to freeze?) At my doctor's appointment I measured 37 weeks, no internal since my doctor does not like to do them too often due to the risk of infection. The pain from my incision is still rough so the doctor gave me another perscription for Tylenol # 3. The baby's heartbeat was 147 which is great! For those of you who are planning to b___stfeed just wanted to let you know how much I LOVED IT! It is very much a personal choice however the very best moment of my life was with my first. We were on the couch nursing while he was holding my finger, just for a moment he looked up and smiled then went back to nursing. To this day I remember just how perfect that little smile was. (over 14 years ago) Makes me melt whenever I think about it! My little boy is sleeping, think I'll join him and check back in later. Take care for now!
