Oh, here we are....Christa, thanks for the tip, I'll try it...my yoga friend suggested I put my leg on the bed in half-lotus position and squat down as far as I can go. It really helps, but only for about 5 minutes. I'll try yours, too and let you know how it goes. My baby is super active the past few days, seems evey half hour or so, he's shifting or kicking some part. Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend. My girfriends are giving me a shower tonight, so I'm trying to safe up my energy between cleaning the house.....

christa0120 - October 8

HAAAPY....have a great time at your shower tonight....Sounds as if you are doing something right if you are getting some releif with just the positions...Perhaps you can "cure" it by just using the yoga poses......WHERE is everyone else?

Kristin72 - October 9

Hello November Mommies, Well.. it is Canadian Thanksgiving today!! I am happy to report that my headaches/migraines have subsided. I have been without for 5 days which is a welcomed relief..after 7 1/2 weeks straight of agony. It just seems so bizarre to not have a migraine now but I am extactic that I feel clear headed now. Went to a wedding on Sat..and wore heels...and a frumpy dress..felt like a cow..and swelled up like one too! I am happy to say that the swelling has subsided now though. I'm thinking it's the sitting in one spot for 3 hours or so that does it. Mind you the whole time I was away in FLA the swelling never went down. I went shopping yesterday for an outfit for my shower..finally found a couple of options. One is a fitted black dress (with stretch) and capped sleeves and I bought a pink pashmina to throw over my shoulders for colour..still debating on the shoes though..probably flats of some kind. I also bought some capri dressy pants from a maternity shop..and a cotton pink dresshirt that I thought I could funk up with jewellery. I feel comfy in both and the black dress I can also wear to the wedding next weekend too! I can't believe I have had 4 weddings in 3 weekends this is just ridiculous!! I have one more to go but it is suppose to be on the day I deliver..so I think I will avoid that one. I even asked the dh if he was going to go..and he said yes but that he'd be on call with me...I was kinda p__sed off about that. Anyway, I guess this is what happens when you know alot of Europeans. The dh has not been the best companion lately either. I have had to deal with his up and down moods and he has been grumpy. He has even gone so far as to insult me on our way to the wedding. He told me to go put on a support bra (I had a bandeau style bra on because I was wearing a one shouldered dress)...he said that my b___bs looked like flap jacks. Thanks A-hole..he totally ruined my day..then he wonders why I am sulking after....ah men! Anyway, our disagreements have lasted until today..he slammed the door that I had opened airing out the house after I made him breakfast yesterday morning because I wanted to air out the house..he said he was cold...I even had the fan on..but bacon lingers!!! lol! I don't need that childish behavior..especially being pregnant..he left and went to his parents came home at 10 pm last night. I don't know if I am being overly sensitive but truly these things upset me. Anyway, enough of my venting...I and all of you have better things to worry about. My doctor rec'd me another ultrasound to be done in the next couple of weeks to measure the baby and the amniotic fluid etc. At my next visit I will have the strep b swab taken.(Any of you girls having this test?) My blood pressure has been good at last visit it wa 120 over 80...a month before it was 110 over 70...SO it is increasing but I guess that is to be expected (especially dealing with my dh ;). On Oct 16th I booked my ultrasound, then I go on the 21st for a prenatal workshop for prenatal care that is free at the hospital, then on Oct 23rd I go for a nursing workshop...then on the 24th I have the hosptial tour in the evening. Next Sunday is the big shower..I had a dream last night I couldn't remember any of the invited guests. This could actually happen because I do not know alot of the ladies coming.. maybe name tags should be in order...for the day (is that tacky) I also dreamt that I forgot all the party favours and the prizes...what a disaster!! Anyway, sorry I have blabbed about nothing..hope everyone is doing well!!!XO Kristin

angelswim - October 9

I had a busy weekend. I spent half the day on Saturday grocery shopping. I'm actually thinking about getting Thanksgiving dinner on my next trip. I doubt I'll feel like going anywhere that day, so the hub and I have decided to fix a dinner here for ourselves. Then I went out clothes shopping for my daughter on Sunday. My feet hurt afterwards. ugh.

angelswim - October 9

What does "dh" stand for? I know "h" stands for husband, but what does the "d" represent? "Damn" always comes to mind. haha. ****Kristin--sorry to hear that you and your "dh" are having struggles. How long have you two been married? I remember my husband and I going around when I was pregnant with my first. We actually got married after I had her. We've been married for almost 11 years now and it's nice to have almost all the kinks worked out now. It took alot of work and some hard times, but now we're very close. It was a little difficult knowing that we were going to have another one, but we've worked everything out and now we're both excited. I hope that any issues your husband has, he will work it out. Sometimes men just need alone time to adjust. Ignore the mood swings he has and keep your spirits up no matter what he says or does. =)

Perl - October 9

I had a rough weekend with sharp stabbing pains right above my pubic bone. My Dr. did not seem concerned just one of the many possible symptoms of pregnancy. The pains seem to have gone away (yaaay) so maybe it was just stretching pains. I'm also feeling a soreness like a pulled muscle or bruised bone down low between my legs (groin area?). It makes it difficult to walk sometimes. Am I the only one in this group feeling these annoying little pains? I guess some of us are feeling pain in the back and I'm feeling it on my pelvis and belly. ***On Sunday a friend delivered a big box full of gifts from various women from my bookclub. This was from that "surprise baby shower" everyone but me got to enjoy because I never rsvp'd and they forgot to make sure I would be there-oops. What else would I get from book club friends but books for the baby! Lots of cute and funny books to read to my little one and also some gift cards to bookstores. I can't get over how nice and generous people are especially when you're pregnant. ***Kristin: I would have been tempted to pull out my bandeau bra and snapped it at his face like a rubber band after a comment like that. I'm getting strep b test along with my pelvic exam at my next appointment too. I won't be getting anymore ultrasounds though. Is everyone but me getting another ultrasound soon? ANGELSWIM: thanks for the laugh. Sometimes "dh" could mean d__n sometimes it's dear husband. ha ha. I forget if you are you in Canada too or are you just planning really early for the Nov. U.S.A Thanksgiving day? ***HAPPYGAL: how was the baby shower?

happpygal - October 10

Oh Kristin: do I EVER relate to your DH post! Mine has been a total child the past few weeks...yelling and slamming doors due to my "demands." Gees, what a jerk. If he had to deal with what I'm dealing with for 5 minutes, he'd be crying. I'm not what's goign on w/him, but I just wish he coudl be more nurturing...I could really use it now. OH well. Mel: Had a nice shower on Sunday, got a ton of baby cloths...yeah! just what I needed...now I can wash an organize! Will have another work shower on Thursday and family shower on Sat. Perl: I am in CONSTANT pain...but it's in my right hip and down my leg. Every step I take is agony...supprot belts don't work...chiopractor doesn't work, etc. you are NOT alone. Went to my OB yesterday. baby is 6 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My amnio is scheduled for Nov. 13, and if lungs are mature, C-section the next day. I wish it could be sooner, but OB said that with GD, the lungs take longer to mature. Can't wait for it all to be over.

angelswim - October 10

I get pains in my right hip and inner thigh. Sometimes I can't even pick my right leg up due to the pain, but it comes and goes. ****Perl**** I'm in the US, and yes planning an early Thanksgiving. We're usually pulled from his family to mine on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't see why everyone can't get together for one big party, sheesh it's ridiculous around here. So, before I can't get out anymore I wanted to buy ThanksG dinner so my husband wouldn't have to do the shopping. He's not good in crowds. If the store got too busy, he'd leave and order out chinese food or a pizza. haha. *****Happygal*****Are you getting an amnio because you have GD, or is it a normal thing when you have a planned section?*****Mellymel******haha. Across the street might be too far to go. j/k Actually, my in-laws live about 5 minutes from our house, but I just don't see me going there so soon after the baby gets here. The doctor (the one I saw last week was a complete idiot), was supposed to schedule my section, but instead he said it'd be around nov 18th. I think he's off on the date, so now I have to talk to my specialist doctor about what I should do. My mom says I should find another doctor to go to. Do you think it's too late to find a new one since I only have a little over a month to go? I've been going to midwives, which I now believe has just been a joke. The last three visits have been less than satisfactory for me, and now I'm really worried that these "doctors" are clueless. I have another ultrasound with my specialist on the 25th, so I'm going to see what he can do to help me then I guess. It's just so aggravating to not be able to trust these people that I've been going to since my first pregnancy anymore.

MellyMel - October 10

Well ladies, I had my ultrasound today and it went great. She is about 4 lbs. 12 or 14 oz. and looks great and is BREACH!!! Now at least I know it's her FEET that are bouncing off my cervix and not her hands, which just feels lovely may I add. I knew she turned recently, because her movements/kicks for awhile were off to the side and the last couple days they have been low! The important thing is she looks great. The doctor said she was pouting. LOL. I was like how the f*** can they see that?? I can't barely make out her little face never mind her mouth or lips! LOL. Anyway, because she is breach, there were some things they could not see, but they saw them at my last u/s at 28 weeks, so the high risk ob told me she is sure it hasn't changed and that everything is fine. She didn't mention coming back, so I think that was my last one. We got a cute pic of her face again. She has chubby cheeks, at least looks like she does! LOL. I'm a__suming since I'm having a section that it doesn't matter if she stays breach or turns, but because it is so uncomfortable, I hope she turns either transverse or vertex again soon!!! I don't know if I'd rather have her head lying on my bladder or her feet kicking my cervix!! Maybe that is better than her kicking in my ribs, which she has never done yet, and from what I've read is very painful and I am lucky not to have felt that! I haven't heard from my doctor today, so I'm hoping that I don't have an infection. I think I may call them before the end of their day to check anyway though. Sometimes they can forget to call, so I think I will call. Have a great day everyone!! xo

MellyMel - October 10

Angelswim~I'm having a scheduled section and I'm not having an amnio, so it's not for everyone that is having a section. I think Happygal, correct me if I"m wrong, is having it due to her G.D.? Is that right?

Kristin72 - October 10

LAdies!! you guys are amazing and you make me laugh even when I am down! Honestly, I just love reading everyones posts! Thanks for the sympathy with the dh (d__n husband) angelswim. It is suppose to be dear husband :P not lately though. Actually, I am not even married yet I just refer to my common law bf as dh for all intensive purposes..plus it has been over 6 years...We will marry next fall sometime. He has been all nicey nice since our b__w up. Perl~ I should have whipped my bandeau elastic band style at him what a jerk he can be lol!!! We went to my parents for our Thanksgiving last night..what a lovely dinner my Mom had. Went shopping today again..found my thankyou notes at a hallmark store 50 for 13.99 and the second pack was half price..what a deal! Bought a box to use to draw prizes. Thought I would have people fill out their name a address on envelopes so I can use them for the thankyou cards later and to throw in the box for the door prizes :)..I know this may sound cheesey but with the amount of people coming it will be a big help to me..plus I do not have alot of their addreses due to the fact that many of my invites were hand delivered. Mel~ glad to hear the ultrasound went well..even if she is breech like you said it won't matter since your having a section. happygal~ glad to hear your shower went well..it so nice getting baby clothes..I keep playing house with mine re-arranging them in the drawers and just imagining how my baby will look in them. I have even hung the babies take home outfit on a chair with the little toque. It's hard to believe our babies will soon be filling out these items in 4d.....~ I had a question..are any of you mom's going to have a doula or midwife present? OR will you keep it to your dh and or family members or friends in the room with you. I am thinking of hiring a doula..but am not sure. I know they are suppose to be a great help. Anyway..that is all for now..talk to you all soon! XO

happpygal - October 10

Mel and others.....yes, I'm having amnio because my OB said babes of that women with GD sometimes lag behind in terms of lung maturity...even though the baby may be large, that is. So, he thinks it's good to check. My back was KILLING me again today. I don't know how I make it to work. I think I'm going to slow it down, maybe even stop working right after Halloween. No point in being physcially and emotionally exhausted before baby comes, need to save my energy, I think. I just hate that there will be those 2 weeks of unpaind leave....URG.

christa0120 - October 10

Hey girls...had my appt (again) today. All is well...pressure is good...blah, blah, blah...head is still down and peanut is doing his practice breathing. Love reading all the posts but am so stinking tired today I can't type anymore...lol...get back to you when I am more awake

MellyMel - October 11

Kristin~Glad to hear you had a nice Thanksgiving and good deal on the thank you cards!! Happygal~Sorry to hear about you constant back pain. It's too bad that nothing you are doing is working for you :( You only have 2 weeks of unpaid leave? Does that mean you get paid the rest of the time you are out with the baby? When I had my son I was out 3 months nonpaid and it sucked!! If you only have to go 2 weeks, then you are one lucky woman! Christa~Happy to hear that your appointment went well and your b/p is good. When I had my ultrasound yesterday she was showing me how my baby was breathing. I thought it was weird. What are they breathing, fluid?? Also, anyone else's baby have hiccups alot? Mine sure does and I feel bad that I cannot do anything to help her. She must get so frustrated, because when it's been awhile, I can feel her shifting back and forth. I feel so bad. See you later..xo

Perl - October 11

Mel: Congrats on the great u/s. Any news on the test for infection? Yeah, I can feel/see baby's hiccups about once a day. Sometimes it goes on for a full 5 minutes. ***HAPPYGAL: This is your week for baby showers! Three in 1 week-wow! Sorry to hear you're not getting any relief on the hip & leg pain. I'm also looking forward to having this baby and getting my body feeling back to normal (sort of). ***ANGELSWIM: Interesting that it's your RIGHT hip, same for Happygal and same for me--it's actually the right side of my crotch and right inner thigh bones and muscles that feel very weak and sore. What is it about the right side? Good planning on getting a headstart on Thanksgiving. I've had my dh's family at my home for Thanksgiving the last two years but with 26 family members, someone else can do it this year. Or else we're just going to order pre-cooked Turkey and sides from the grocery store's deli department. The only thing I'm making this year is my cranberry sauce and my stuffing.****KRISTIN: good idea on getting people to write down names and addresses on envelopes. You need to save time since it will take you a while to thank 50+ people. It took me a day to make my 36 gift cards then another day and a half to write out my thanks. You'll be quite busy. That's A LOT of presents your baby is going to get! ****CHRISTA: good to hear your appointment was fine. Still tired? Me too, I've been napping way more than usual this past week. : ( ****My hospital tour last night was a dud. The tour guide forgot to show up so some nurse stepped in and gave us the condensed version. Nothing exciting, we saw the labor/delivery rooms, the nursery then the recovery rooms where I will sleep after baby is born, cafeteria, snack rooms, security systems, chapel etc etc. They have fold out sofa in the rooms for the dh. The one thing that excited me is that each room is private so I don't have to share my space with anyone. That's a good thing.
