Thankyou Happy Gal for your words for both Christa and I. Christa~please try to remain optimistic. I know exactly how you are feeling. I wake up thinking my b___bs are not sore enough, or maybe the the pregnancy feelings I have are only a full stomach from eating..not pregnancy. Like you said, it is just our way of preparing ourselves for the worst. I am trying to remain optomistic ..but in my heart I think there is no way I will carry this baby to term.. absoloutely no way. When you have been hurt before like I have been with a loss at 14 weeks..your hopes and dreams just go out the door. I had a seemingly normal pregnancy last time too..until at 14 weeks they told me the heart stopped beating. I don't think I will ever feel "safe" in my current pregnacy. Even after I heard the heartbeat via the doppler last week..I thought well I have continued to spot so maybe the baby has died since then. I hope to get enlightened and encouraged after my next appointment. Plus... I am hiding this pregnancy from so many people that I feel like a liar at times..and I don't like to live my life like that. I am afraid to jinx myself again and have to explain to people that I have lost this one too..the shame I felt was almost unbearable last time.
I did not spot today...but I did all day yesterday ..so weird..
Hope everyone else is doing well and Mel~ I hope your spotting is nothing..has it stopped?..it's funny but I am just more positive about other pregnancies than my own...I think you will be just fine!!
Take CAre
Kristin

Ok, I just pasted this off the older site. LOL.>>>>Daffy~I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and best of luck on your Nuch Screen Wednesday. I've been going through the same as you. There is so much in the house that needs to be done and I have been SO TIRED that I cannot help so much and hubby is like don't worry, but I do. I just really wish I had the energy to keep up with the house, but he is fabulous and has been doing a great job with it and I'm so blessed to have him as my husband. He is so protective of me right now; it's so cute. CHRISTA~ How are you? I haven't seen you post for awhile. KRISTEN~My spotting kind of comes and goes intermittently. It's dark brown and it's almost like the end of your period, but only a little lighter. I will ask when I go for my monthly appointment on Thursday, but I won't worry. I still feel very pregnant. LOL. PERL and AALEx~ how have you two been?

I have a question. I am 9 weeks today. Does that mean I am "in" my 10th week of pregnancy and I'm considered a whole 9 weeks complete? LOL Thanks!! xo

Dear Kristin: I can TOTALLY relate to everything you have said...and I just can't imagine and I'm scared to even THINK about what it would be like to lose a baby at 14 weeks...my Gawd. This is as far as I've ever come, both my miscarriages were at 6 weeks, and like I said, I've never even seen a sac on ultrasosund before. So for me, to see those little arms and leg buds wriggling wround...it was so intense. I, like you, have told virtually NOONE. I don't want to have to explain a miscarriage....only my a__sitant at work and a few very close and discrete friends....not my mom, sister or any other family. If you don't mind me asking, what did they say the cause of your loss was? It's just so scary, I want to give us BOTH a big hug.
You only have one more day to go until you have the rea__surance, temporary as it might be, that you deserve.

It's a sad feeling that we are losing 2 of our November mommies because they have lost their pregnancies. First, Michelle D and now Hopeful and Excited. Also, that a few more on this board are fearful that the same will happen to them because of spotting/bleeding or past miscarriages. If you're a praying woman, please pray with me for all of us in this group! I know that a few of us have appointments this week and next week. Now's the time to pray and encourage each other and think positive thoughts! Let's continue to encourage one another. Remember, the further along we progress in our pregnancies, the more our chances of miscarriage decrease. Nothing is ever guaranteed but at least our odds are getting better every day, that's something that's good to know. Melly: to answer your question, I conceived (3/1) 2 weeks after my last menstrual period (2/15) so tomorrow I'll be 10 weeks 1 day into pregnancy but only 8 weeks pregnant. I'm pretty sure I have this right but it's confusing to me too.

Perl: Yes, I'm into trying to stay postive if I can and prayers, and/or good vibes or karma wishes....all good stuff and helps us all very much. Okay, about the pregnacy dating, I'm also confused.....when I went for sonogram they told me I wa__such and such, then I went for another and they said it didnt' matter the size of the baby, pregnacy is alsways dated by last period....makes little sense to me, but that's what I was told.

I feel terrible about Hopeful's loss..She is and was such a bright light in our November Mommies Forum..Her advice and support is/was so positive and encouraging..I just feel sick she has lost her baby in her (13th week I think.). but she was/is an inspiration for bravery and she remained optomistic even on her final note to us all here...May God Bless this wonderful women...and her little babies soul.
My heart is aching..I am so sad for her.

Thank you Kristen for shedding light on that issue. I was pretty sure that that meant I was "in" my 10th week. LOL. I also mourn for Hopeful; how terribly sad, and at 13/14 weeks!! My heart breaks for her. It goes to show how vulnerable we all are when it comes to pregnancy and that there really is no safe amount of time. Let's all pray for each other and the babies we are carrying...xo

I was just reading my pregnancy journal and came across this paragraph about dating pregnancies. I thought I'd share what it says: "For simplicity's sake, the medical profession actually counts the two weeks that set the stage for conception as part of 'the pregnancy' by asking you to remember back to the first day of your last menstrual cycle. Thus, your doctor's estimate [of when pregnancy begins] seems ahead by two weeks because of its earlier starting point. Going back 38 weeks from the baby's due date (266 days) takes you back to the first day of conception; going back 40 weeks from the baby's due date (280 days) takes you back to the first day of the woman's last menstrual cycle. In both cases, the due date remains the same." *** My example in my earlier post is a 2 week difference between last menstrual period and conception, so if you're 9 weeks from conception now then according to this book you would actually be 11 weeks into pregnancy. I personally like to stick to the same dating my doctors use, it causes less confusion and it makes me feel "more pregnant" to say I'm 10 weeks versus 8 weeks. : )

HI all - I had my ultrasound and got to see the baby's heartbeat - a healthy 160 bpm! It really is a relief to finally see that. I actually cried while they did the test, I was so happy. And the little one was wiggling all around - looks like it waved at us, and my DH also insists that it mooned us as well! (Too early to tell the s_x, they said...) This was the Nuchal scan - I wrote more about it under the First Trimester Screening thread, for those interested. Won't get the results until next week - but overall feeling very good and content - finally saw the little bean!! I've had a few cramps, but I'm sure it's just mostly from how nervous I've been the last couple days. (And I thought of Hopeful while I was there....I hope you are doing well!) So far a healthy baby, so I'm counting my blessings! How have the rest of your appointments this week gone?

Hi Aalex, glad to see you're staying positive. We're all waiting for reports from a few of the ladies here who have appointments this week and next. Good vibes and prayers is what we all need. ***Question to anyone who doesn't mind sharing. . . Have you gained weight, lost weight or stayed about the same? I've gained 5 pounds in the past 10 weeks and 3 inches around my waistline---haha, that explains why my pants don't feel comfortable anymore. I'm wondering if this extra weight & inches is too much at this stage, not enough or average? I know this is due to all the extra food I'm eating on days I feel like eating to keep from vomiting, and water retention too. I don't look pregnant at all yet, just look like I'm starting to get chubby.

Good morning ladies~ I just wanted to update you all. I had my ob/gyn appointment yesterday and she is going to do another ultrasound Monday just to be sure everything is o.k. with the fetus. Is it even a fetus yet? Because of the light spotting, she is just being safe, but said that the last ultrasound the fetus had a very strong heartbeat and I shouldn't worry. She said 25-30/40?% of woman spot and/or bleed, which we all know, and have healthy pregnancies. The part that bummed me out is that I GAINED 7 LBS. IN THREE WEEKS since my last appointment. I was so terribly upset, but she didn't even mention it. The nurse weighed me and just said you've gained a bit. A bit??!!! I"m so sad. I didn't want to gain THAT MUCH this soon. Hell, I only wanted to gain 30 lbs. for my entire pregnancy. I will have to be extra careful and hope that after this trimester is over that I will not eat as much as I do now!!! But anyway, they said yesterday that I was at 8w/3d, so I give up. I thought I was 9w/2d. They win! I am only in my 9th week when I thought it was my 10th, so that sucked too, but whatever. Anyway, other than that, I still feel the naseau on/off and b___bs KILL me expecially while I'm sleeping on them!! OUCH!! Perl you are not doing that bad if you see what I just gained!! Anyone else have appointments this week. Wishing you all are well and doing great. By the way, from the posts I see that we are all thinking positive and that makes me very happy. Let's keep it up ok?!! XO
