Here we go...I am 21 weeks now and getting somewhat excited. I have started shopping and am finding some great deals. I am also loving some hand me downs. I have cleaned them up and they look good as new. I was soooo not into hand me downs with my 1st, everything HAD to be new. Not the case this time...LOL. I just can't see spending that kind of money on things they will not use for more then 3-6 months. And I also have to shop for my 6 yr old's school clothes etc...The kid has a pair of $55 shoes. I hate to admit it tho these shoes were well worth the $, they can be thrown in the washer and come out good as new. They have been great...but enough about that. Lets get some updates.

The bf stared painting the house to "freshin up things for the baby" Also, he re-finished two antique rockers. My relationship has improved signifigantly with the bf. I have two different groups of people organizing showers for me..I am so thankful for their kindness. We r having a party this weekend for the bf..lots of people..good times! Hope you are all having a great day! BTW Christa~ you sound great these days...Keep it up! All the best girls.. talk to you soon! Would love to get some updates! How is everyone doing???? Kristin :)

Updates Ladies updates!! Annishel how are you? Mel what's going these days? Happygal and Alexand have not heard from you in a while..Perl how's everything going?

christa0120 - July 17

Kristen...you are right. My mood has lifted tremendously. I have cut down on my synthroid a bit because I was running to high and maybe that had something to do with it. It is unusual to be hyper thyroid while pg but I seem to have managed...lol Take care

It's great to feel the excitement in the air from you ladies. : ) Week 22---baby is moving A LOT more now. It feels strange and exciting. About baby showers. . . I told everyone who brings it up I'm not really into baby showers and don't need to or want to have one. I've told people I want to have a little "meet the baby" party after November 22nd. Boy, did that shock or upset some people!! It looks like 3 of my friends from church won't take no for an answer and are organizing a baby shower anyway and they are just too nice for me to say "stop it"! : ) I'm still researching Pediatricians and need to choose one this week---I have it narrowed down to two doctors though!

Perl...for my son I had a Co-ed baby shower. Turned out to be just a big party where I ended up getting gifts and teased about my gerth...lol. It really was a hoot and I am not one who likes a lot of attention. If they insist on a shower, make it co-ed. One of the games the men played was drinking beer out of a baby bottle...who ever won got a nice boy gift...They served frozen margaritas and beer...really a great time. But then again, these were my softball friends but a great time none the less.

Perl - July 17

I wanted a Co-ed baby shower---yours sounds like it was a lot of fun. My dh and I went to one of those and I thought it was alright but my dh did not--whoever organized it did not include any activities for the guys, what a flop it was for the men. But I know ours would be so much more organized than the one we went to. I suggested co-ed to my dh and he won't go for it, he said he'd like to help the hostess with shower preparations but then he'd like to bolt out the door and go golfing with the guys instead. I'll get even with him by asking one of his brothers to ask all the guys to go golfing or somewhere else with him and have every single guy bring him a package of diapers.

Okay November Mommies where are you & what's going on?! MellyMel and HappyGal: are you on vacation, too tired to post, too busy?? Are you okay? Annishel and Aalex: what's up? Any new or different pregnancy symptoms/moods/body changes this week?

aalexand - July 18

Hello Ladies sorry i have not posted in a while but it kind of hard to get online at work now. Well i went to the doctor last week and everything was fine. I will be 24wks on tomorrow(yeah) and my little woman just moves all the time and especially at night. I said i hope she don't be one that sleeps all day and up all night.....but i'm enjoying it. Sounds like everyone is is progressing well all though we have to deal with being pregnant during the hot hot summer, all is well. My sisters are planning on giving me a shower the end of September and also i church will probably give me one so i'm trying to contain myself from buying until after the shower. Well have a great week and i will talk to you girls later!!!!!!

Perl - July 19

Hi Aalex, it's great to hear you and baby are doing well!****Kristin: good luck with your OB appointment today! I hope you get a lot of good information.

Kristin72 - July 19

Hi Girls, I just got back from my OB appointment. All the utlrasounds tests were great..everything looked normal. I have put on 7 pounds since my last visit (4 weeks ago)..yikes. the baby sounded great with the heart beating at 155bpm. Blood pressure great. No further determination about s_x :( Was set up with another blood test and a gluclose test and then I have to get another rhogam shot if I tested negative for the rh antibodies. ~~ A little stressed out today came home and the bf was cleaning out the house and getting rid of things..he began throwing out several of my travel momento's and a purse I had bought in New York..plus any hanger that was not white and my shoe rack..took all of my clothing out of the master bedroom and clunked it on the bed in the spare room etc...this really p__sed me off...I felt so violated. I realize he is trying to help me get organized before the baby comes..but this was just plain inconsiderate of my possessions..argh!! Anyway, I am preparing for a party this week for the bf's birthday party... have to try and find space for my remaining things..talk to you all later..when i am a little happier. :(

Perl - July 19

Kristin: so glad to hear you had a good OB appointment and that baby is doing fine. Are you still waiting to hear back about rh antibodies you mentioned last week or is that what you mean by everything being normal (and they are testing you again just to be sure before doing a rhogam shot? Good luck on the blood test. Don't worry about 7 pounds, this is the time for growth spurt and didn't I read somewhere that you'd only gained 1 pound up to your last visit? So overall only 8 pounds since 1st prenatal visit until now at week 22 is great!****About your bf, I know you're upset (I would be too) but I had to laugh. I thought it was only us women who had that instinct to prepare a "nest" for the baby but I've come to find out the men have that instinct too I guess. Few weeks ago, my dh moved my desk away from my office window where I had a lovely view of colorful flowers and wisteria vines and he positioned my desk in a corner next to the closet and facing a wall so he could move his desk and stuff into what is now our office--major invasion of my space but I realize it had to be done sooner or later. He also boxed up a pile of my books and put them in the garage where I'm sure I'll never find them again. Oh well, I'd rather he do it than me, I already have enough on my to-do list. Have fun planning and enjoying the b-day party. ****I sent in my hospital pre-registration form today. I was going to sign up for birthing cla__ses but figured it may be a waste of time and money if I end up having that very likely c-section. I'll check with Dr. at my next visit and see if she thinks the cla__ses will be helpful even for c-section. If you've been to these cla__ses for a prior pregnancy or are in one now, what do you ladies think, helpful for c-section patients or not?

MellyMel - July 20

Hi girls! I'm sorry I haven't written for a bit, but I've been very busy. I started a new job Monday and when I get home after I get my son, I eat, work out, shower and I am too tired for anything else. LOL. I had time tonight after my shower and thought I would write. Kristen~glad to hear that everything is normal and you're doing great!! Dont' sweat it too much about the room, because you will have bigger fish to fry very soon ;) but I don't blame you for feeling violated, I would have to. Christa~glad to hear that you are doing good too and you sound so much happier and positive now!! AALEX~glad to hear the same about you and that your little girls is very active like mine. I feel her all day and all night. LOL. It's just great. Perl~I'm glad you're doing good too and my advice is don't waste your time or money if you are more than likely having a section, trust me. Well, I had my ob yesterday and everything is going fantastic. My results were all normal from my Level 2 and she is moving around SO much it is incredible! I have another ultrasound for Aug. 1, because she was still to little to measure the heart, so I have to go back for just that and I will get more pics again!! :P Question, do you all still have sore b___bs or is it just me? I was depressed to hear from my visit that I put on freakin 7 lbs. in the last month AGAIN, so that was depressing, but she tells me that it's normal to gain the most weight during the first two trimesters and that it will slow down later. I freakin hope so!!!!!!! Well, off to bed now ladies and I will write and check back soon. I am so so tired..........XO

Perl - July 21

Mel: glad to hear you're doing well even though you're busy, also good to hear that you had a good u/s. I think that getting another ultrasound would be fun and hope they can get all the good measurements they need next time. My b___bs stopped being as sore as they were at first but every now and then I get a small amount of soreness like right now. I'm glad to hear that most weight gain is in the first 2 trimesters--I'm okay with the number of pounds I've gained so far (about 7 or 8) but I'm really starting to freak out about how big my belly has gotten in just the last two weeks, if this rate of growth continues through the end of 3rd trimester I could get really huge!! And thanks for your opinion on birthing cla__ses. I'll have to look more closely into what will be taught so I won't be wasting my or dh's time with non-useful info. I'm looking a cla__s more geared towards c-sections if such a cla__s exists.

Perl - July 21

I forgot to mention, at last, my dh was able to feel the baby's movements. After about 5 or 6 attempts of his putting his hands on my belly and feeling nothing, we were both beginning to wonder if I was making it up. If you all think I'm easily excited or amused for mentioning this, I guess you'd be right. I think it's a thril!!!

carolanne - July 21

Hi All! My first time joining in on this thread! I"m so glad to find you all. I was going to another due in Nov. board, but all the women were so young and there were so many of them that it was hard to get to know anyone. I'm Carol Anne. I have 2 boys - 5 and 3 and boy#3 is due Nov. 27. He may be delivered early though because as it stands now, I have placenta previa. He also has a 2 vessel umbilical cord (instead of the normal 3). Had an OB apt today and it went well. I didn't gain anything this time. BP a little higher than normal for me, but not out of line. Little bugger gave mommy a scare when OB couldn't find h/b. So, we went to the u/s room and couldn't see it either. He was moving though, so OB wasn't worried. He tried again with the doppler just to rea__sure me and I heard it just as baby boy gave a big kick! ANother u/s next week to see all they couldn't see before and check on the placenta. I'm looking forward to it, but hope it all goes well. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Carol Anne

christa0120 - July 21
