Hi everyone. I posted elsewhere about a problem I had with diarrhea yesterday--worst I've ever had in my life but digestive problems are what I'm working with now. Now that you mention it Aalex, baby is very active maybe the baby's kicking on my intestines gave it a laxative effect--does that happen? I can't figure it out, I've never had it this bad and never had it before during this pregnancy. We had freaky bizarre 113 degree temp yesterday but I always drink lots of water so what gives? I got so cleaned out I even lost 2 pounds from yesterday to today--sorry TMI. I'm going to see Dr tomorrow to get the update on my 20 week u/s report, I hope she'll give me insight.

Hi Ladies! I had my OB appointment this morning. Baby sounded great, good little kicks on the doppler and, heartrate at 160 bpm--this really has fluctuated. Dr. gave me a copy of my 20 week U/S report which makes for interesting reading--on all the various fetal measurements, baby measured between 20w 6d and 21w6d even though I had the u/s at 20w0d but they kept my estimated due date at 11/22/06 anyway. I guess this is why the u/s tech said my baby was "beefy". The only thing in the report that bugs me is "slightly suboptimal visualization of the fetal nose and lips". Dr said it just means they didn't get a good view but still. . . oh well I won't complain, maybe that means he won't have his daddy's big, long Roman nose. The major organs, spine, cord, limbs and placenta all look normal so I'm happy with the report. ** Dr. stated that now, I finally look pregnant and measured fundal height for 1st time. I've gained 8 pounds total--3 pounds since last visit last month. At the beginning of pregnancy Dr. told me I should gain from 2 up to 4 pounds per month so I'm well within my limit and if I gain loads of weight from now til November I won't freak out too much. IF it wasn't for horrible acid reflux I'm sure I'd eat more and gain more. Next visit at 28 weeks will be a lot of lab work and will be my last monthly visit. After that it's more frequent OB visits but I forgot to ask if it's every 2 weeks or what? KRISTIN: I talked with my Dr about my travel and upcoming plans to be on some long airplane flights. It may interest you to know (because of your leg cramp concerns)that hours of sitting in the same position followed by a cough a few days afterwards may be a signal that a clot has travelled from your legs to your lungs and can be fatal. For those of us who have to take long flights or have jobs where we sit all day long at our desks on the computer, on conference calls or whatever, it's important to keep our feet or legs moving to keep the blood circulating up to our hearts even if it's just a regular rotation of the ankles or elevating the legs. *****How's everyone else doing????

Good Evening ladies; i was wondering if any of you are planning on b___stfeeding?

I am going to give it my all american try. I had troubles in the beginning with my son and I stuck it out but I will switch much quicker if this one doesn't go smoothly. I alrwdy am having similar symptoms on my rt b___st that I did before (clogged duct/infection) and it is really sore today. I was guilted into b___st feeding with my son and I really felt like an awful mom when it didn't turn out as wonderful as everyone said it was.

Hello November Mommies!!! First off, PERL~Glad to hear that your appt. went well yesterday. I can't believe that is all the weight you have gained you lucky b___h! Another thing, don't worry about the nose and and lips, they couldn't see my baby's heart that well either and that is why I'm going back next Tuesday. What bloodwork do they do at 28 weeks? CHRISTA~I was thinking of giving it a shot too, but we'll see. I am thinking of the money saved on formula and the weight loss help it would give me. I think the thought of it kind of weirds me out a little, but we will see. I would like to at least try and if I don't like it then it's to the formula! LOL. I have been feeling so good lately. I have no complaints - no ligament pain, sciata pain, carpel tunnel, reflux, nothing! With my son, I had it all!!! I am hoping because I am in better shape this time around that this is why I am having a healthier pregnancy :) Well, I am at 21w/3d, but going by my ultrasound, 22w/3 days. LOL. A few more weeks and it's another glucose screening. I hope I pa__s again! I will be the happiest pregnant woman if I do!!The only thing that is normal is that I am tired faster. Especially now that I am working full-time again. It is a bit tiring, but I still manage to walk and exercise that's for d__n sure! LOL. This baby is SO d__n active. I swear she kicks all day and all night!! It's like she never sleeps. My gosh, I freakin hope she will when she's born!! :P Well off for now. Everyone have a great night and talk soon...XO

Thanks Mel. You're the lucky one, feeling as good as you do with no digestive problems or aches or pains. About labwork. . . don't know exactly but Dr said at 28 weeks she would order "all sorts of lab orders" including my 2nd glucose test. I'm pretty sure it's the 3 hour glucose test. ** Breastfeeding? I'm going to try it and hope I don't have any problems with it.

I need your help on this ladies. I just read elsewhere that women in our stage (20-23 weeks) are leaking from their b___sts. I have no leakage and have not even had really sore b___sts for a long time. Should I be worried about this?? Do you all still have sore b___bs and are you all leaking or am I the only one feeling nothing? I hope this doesn't mean there will be no milk for my baby.

Perl...put the books down and step away from the www. You MAY or MAY NOT have leakage. I did not have any at all with my 1st pregnancy, I am not having any now. I know how tempting it is to worry about things, and I know you are an exceptionally bright woman but the books are not laws...One thing doesn't neccesarily apply to all or even the ma__ses. They are just possibilities and perhaps warnings or what may happen and what happens to some. My biggest regret is reading "What to expect when you are expecting" I read it as a "how to" instead of an inforamtional...it panicked me the first time around too. After I had my son I read all the parenting mags etc and was panicked because my son didn;t do this or that according to their time line. My son is active healthy and bright. Much more athletic than most and very skilled...but you would never knwo by reading ther mags that he would be that way.Use your instincts, they are better than the books by far!

No leakage here..nothing, nil. My nipples are sensitive though.. to the point of hurting but that has been since day one. I have heard other things...about leaking the collostrum (sp?) right after the baby is born before the milk comes. The baby can survive on this until we start to produce milk. I find it hard to believe these b___bs can even produce milk but we will soon find out. I am not worried..I'm sure it will come and if not..that is why formula was invented ;).
I am now in my 24th week or 23 weeks 2 days :) Kristin

No leakage here. I am bone dry! LOL. Perl, I wouldn't worry about it. I personally thought we didn't get our milk until after the baby was born. My b___sts and nipples however are still extremely OUCH to the touch!!

Hi Ladies: Sorry I've been away, problems w/DH and me, nothing huge, just a bunch of issues related to my expectations of what will be once this baby is born and not being too happy with the level of support I'm getting right now. Would like to feel more nurtured and have more help around the house etc. We both work full-time, I perhaps work even more hours, and yet, even at 23 weeks preggos, I'm still doing the brunt of the houseowrork, shopping, registering for baby, etc. etc. In terms of how we're doing (me and the baby) things are fine except that I'm supposed to stop gaining weight, which translates to not eating any sugar or fruit!! Doc said too much amnioc fluid, which usually indicates baby is 'peeing' too much due to not metabolizeing sugars. It's a real pain to stay off fruit because I LOVE it. But I've already gained 20 pounds (I'm usually about 128 and now weigh 150) and the doctor doesn't want me to gain more than 5 more pounds the next 3 months (yeah, RIGHT!!). At 22 weeks baby weighed in at 1 pound 3 ounces...like a 25 weeker! At least he would be more viable, so that's a good thing. My baby is kicking up a storm, and has a regular schdule now...(like to get active around 10:00 p.m. just when I'm trying to sleep). ABout the leaking, I don't notice any, but I do get a light, yellow film around my nipples which I've read is from pre colostrum. It's very sublte, many of you might have it but just haven't noticed. Hope all is well...........

Thanks for the responses. Happygal: sorry about the problems with your dh (I've had some of those moments with mine too) , but very nice to hear that you and baby are doing well. My baby measured slighly large too (a week ahead at 20 weeks) and for some women who had bigger differences, I hear it often evens out later in the pregnancy. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a "beefy baby" (what the u/s tech called mine). :)
