Hi girls...Having a bit of a scare right now...I woke up pretty bloated in the face and have some petichiae (small red spots) all around my eyes. I was supposed to go get my GTT today and we ended up doing some other blood tests to see how my platlet counts are doing. I am trying not to get too nervous and just hope it was from gagging when I brushed my teeth. The puffiness has since gone down. Wish me luck PLEASE....MEL...congrats on pa__sing the GTT, I know it was worrying you....PERL....EAT...LOL...I laos took Zantac with my 1st pregnancy, it was a life saver....I may having a suggestion for you...It will add calories and protein..Try drining a protein shake. I use 2 scoops proteinpowder, ff milk and add various other things to make it interesting. My absolute fav is chocolate protein powder, banana, a nut b___ter (almond or peanut). I makes a higher calorie tasty treat that is good for both you and baby. Lots of protein and healthy fat, also the banana has good carbs and the added pota__sium helps stave away those dreaded leg cramps. Well that is my $.02 worth. Thanks

CHRISTA~You may have broken some blood vessels? Is that how it looks? The only thing that would worry me is the bloated face, although there are many reasons for that, so don't worry until you have or if you have something to worry about. It may just be normal bloating due to excess water weight or salt? I had my ultrasound today and the placenta has moved up!! Woo Hoo. Also, more importantly, the baby looks great!! She is around 2 lbs. 6oz. they tell me. I got a beautiful pic of her face and it's amazing how she looks more "normal" and less "alien" like at this stage. It is truly amazing. She was swallowing and kicking away and the 2 techs were laughing watching her. The doctor came in to check for herself and complimented on what a beautiful baby I have. Now what do they mean by that? Do they mean like the measurements and stuff or the actual baby or both? LOL. Anyway, it was a great day and she is head down with her b___t and legs on the right side of my upper belly, which is where I feel all the movement mostly and kicks, so that made sense. I got to see her too when she was kicking; it was so cute. Well that's all for now and I will be back again later this week. So far, so good and I couldn't be any happier right now and thankful. We are all truly blessed! XO

One more question. If I am 26 weeks, am I in my seventh month? This is all so confusing because talking to hubby after 9 months, you are really only 36 weeks pregnant, so in that sense 40 weeks would equal 10 months wouldn't it???

Hi ladies! Christa: thanks for the yummy sounding ideas for protein shakes. I will definitely give it a try. Do you remember the name of your protein powder? I don't want to buy one that tastes like dust. Sorry to hear about the bloating and I hope that the blood tests don't show anything you need to be concerned about. How's your blood pressure? I thought I remembered hearing that high blood pressure could cause some bloating but I haven't heard about getting red spots around eyes. Let us know how it goes. MellyMel: that is so good to hear that your placenta has moved up--you must be so relieved. Congrats on a great u/s! I'm with you on the 10 months versus 9 months thing (thanks Christa). From conception to the due date is 9 months (Feb to Nov) but I always tell people I go by "lunar months" meaning 4 weeks=1 month so it's 10 lunar months but 9 calendar months. Either way like Christa says above or going strictly by lunar months, you're in your 7th month.

I almost forgot to post my update. Yesterday I was just standing talking to a friend when I felt something that felt the same as AF and thinking I was bleeding I ran to the bathroom. I saw nothing but when I wiped the tissue was wet and clear but it was not urine. So I think I leaked a bit of fluid or else this is some strange watery clear discharge. It only happened once so I thought I'd wait to see if it happens again before I start to worry. **We went to our 2nd birthing cla__s last night. We saw a video and charts on what to expect during labor. I asked the nurse/instructor about my leaking too and on her suggestion I'll be talking to my Dr's office today as soon as they are open just to keep them informed--now I'm wondering if I should be worried. I'm also going in for my glucose test/blood count tests this afternoon. Also, I called a drywall guy to come fix the walls of our kid's future nursery/bedroom so I guess we'll finally be painting this weekend.

Perl...I use "7 Natural Laws" Protein Podwer. I order it online and it is yummy and near pure. You can get in at www.7naturallaws.com. Also they will send you free samples if you want to try that 1st. (PS it is a "diet/way of life...so you may get some propeganda with it to...but it is good info) The chocolate is very tasty...the vanilla is vanilla bean like but I dont care for it as much as the chocolate. I also ditto about calling the Dr. but I am leaning towards nothing to worry about......My blood work came back fine, looks like I may have just popped some capillaries around the eyes...probably from the swelling and my morning gag reflex while brishing my teeth. My BP has been fine and I know that bloating is also normal for this stage inpregnancyso long as it goes down. I also had my GTT but didn;t get the results yet.

Perl: Yeah, I would call the doc. At first, I wondered if it might have been part of your mucus plug, I've heard of that before, usually nothing to worry about, but still.....I'm ALWAYS leaking urnine, these days, even when I don't know it...so you might have peed a bit and not known it. Keep us posted, okay?

Thanks Happygal & Christa. I called my OB's office and talked to the medical a__sistant, 10 minutes later the advice nurse called me to ask more questions. She made me feel so stupid because I didn't call them yesterday afternoon or evening after I felt the leaking. Then 5 minutes later she called me again and told me to get in my car ASAP and get to my OB's office. That was totally not the reaction I expected. I was not too worried when I made the phone call, but after talking with the nurse I was shaking with nervousness and close to tears on my way to the Dr's office. My OB later explained that it was the leaking plus the fact that I had not felt baby movements at all since 10PM last night that concerned her. My OB did a pelvic exam and felt that my cervix was fine she used a test strip that showed there was no amniotic fluid leaking--whew! Still doesn't explain the flow of watery stuff--but she said probably urine (like in your case Happygal) or else runny discharge. My OB also did an ultrasound to check on baby and amniotic fluid. Everything looked fine, baby was doing some deep breathing which Dr said was very good sign. The placenta is between the baby and my skin so he's kicking the placenta--I won't feel kicks as strongly. Baby is in breech position with head and feet up just below my stomach, my poor stomach, same as during the 20 week u/s. OB says 80% of babies are already head down at this point and that we'll have to re-check baby's positioning at 35 weeks. CHRISTA: so sorry about your glucose test. : ( What's next? Do you need to get on insulin treatment or just change your diet? At least the rest of your bloodwork was fine--that's good. Well, my turn's next--off I go to the lab for my blood draw and glucose test.

Thanks Christa. So by going by your book, I am still in my sixth month at 26 weeks and still second trimester. What the hell?! LOL. I thought I was in seventh month. Geesh. Sorry to hear about your 1-hour, but I failed mine too and pa__sed my 3-hour, so best of luck to you that you will too!!! PERL~what a nightmare for them to scare you like that. I think it was just discharge. I had something similar happen last week, but I just figured it was discharge since I have been having more of it, but only mine wasn't a "gush"or anything, but I did feel wet as if AF was here, but when I went to the bathroom there was just wet discharge. Anyway(YUK LOL), does anybody else have odor or is it just me? I shower evenings, and I swear the next day I freakin smelll already. It's been like this for like a month now and it sucks!! I am very clean, so this is very bothersome and puts a bit of damper on s_x. LOL. But anyway, enough of that. Good luck Perl on your GTT!!! Nighty night now....XO

Well, off for bed. We are going away tomorrow night for Labor Day weekend up North Conway. I'll be back Monday. I hope everyone have a safe and healthy weekend and I will read the posts when I get back. Take care all...XO
