Got my results on thursday and they said that I was negitive and that my chances are 1-280. sure better than what they told me 1-10 . I am 43 but 44 at time of birth and they said I went up to a 34 year old. They still think for 100 to do a amnio but I feel this is better than a possitive.

Congratulations on getting a screen negative--that's great news! What was 100? Sounds like you're opting not to do the amnio. (?)

hi alley - the amniocentesis is supposedly 99.9% accurate, however there is a slight risk I believe like 1 in 200 or 0.5% hat you may miscarry fom the amnio. this is why some women opt not to habe it. I think I would if the odds of downs were greater than the odds of miscarriage. good luck! 1 in 280 is a only 0.365% chance of having a baby with downs... thats not even 1% not even a half of a percent if that makes u feel better. :o)
