Let me know!! I ordered the No-Cry sleep solution, but there was a problem with my credit card (was issued a new one and old was on file with Amazon)...so I never got it and have never gotten around to ordering another.

Woo hoo - SANN is a new mommy! :-)

She is?!!! CONGRATULATIONS SANN!!! How did it go? Where did she post?

She posted on our "old" thread. Isabelle, I believe is her name. She said she would be back. :-) How is the sleep training going? Our upstairs air conditioner is out, Katie is in bed with me! Husband is out of town - it will be crowded when he gets back.

Thanks Trying. Well, I noticed that little Pete was going 4 hours between feeds during the day and waking every 2 to 3 hours at night for feedings. So I thought I'd see what would happen if I started feeding more during the day to see if he would reverse his day/night feeding pattern. First I fed him every 2 hours during the day and wouldn't you know, he starting sleeping 4 hours at a time at night immediately. Now I'm feeding him full servings of solids twice a day and b___stfeeding every 3 hours during the day and he has slept anywhere from 5-8 hours at a stretch for almost 2 weeks now. The one day he slept 8 hours straight I woke up and did a happy dance! Now I have to wonder, was he just hungry all along? The Secrets of the Baby whisperer" book was helpful in answering a lot of the questions I had about feeding solids (amounts and schedules) and other basics. But she suggests a 4 hour feeding schedule for 6 months and older. So now I'm working on weaning some of his day feedings it's a whole lot easier than weaning the night feedings I think. She also has a pick up/put down technique for babies that wake up too often at night but I don't really like it and will only use it if necessary (it's better than CIO I think). So I still don't have a textbook baby but I'm happy to have made some progress at least. **I hope you get your AC fixed soon so that you and your DH can have your space and Katie can rest well in her room again soon.

Yes, I think a lot of Katie's eating "problem" is that she does not eat during the daytime - all goes back to bottle refusal and me allowing her to catch up at night. She still does it...there are many days she will only take 2oz out of a bottle at daycare and wait for me. I don't know what else to do...solids have not really helped as it is a "habit" and a comfort now too. I tried PU/PD method for about 1 hour (1am) Saturday night and the only thing good that came of that was she was so exhausted (relieved?) when I put her back in bed with me that she slept for 4 hours. :-)

There has not been another 8 hour night for me : ( But we're consistently at 3-6 hours stretches so I'm happy enough. Tomorrow is little Pete's christening and Monday is his 6 month well check and vaccinations. ***Happy Mother's Day to you Trying and Sann!!!

Thank you Perl! :-) I was so exhausted I took off work yesterday - what a way to START the week. Katie is waking every hour...I don't have a clue what to do but am too tired to try anything different.

Oh my gosh I don't know what I do if Pete was waking every hour still. Poor you--you must be so exhausted. You have a lot more patience than I do because I think the lack of sleep would force me to let him CIO as much as I hate that idea. I like the taking a day off idea. Can you take a few days off? I've heard it only takes about 3-5 days to establish a new habit with babies. Maybe take 3 days off and including the weekend maybe you can change things. (?) Have you tried giving her the bottle yourself to see what happens? I know what you mean by Katie waiting for you though. A couple of times I had to be at evening meetings and left Pete home with my DS. Well I came home at 10 pm to find little Pete wide awake, waiting for me to b___stfeed him so he could go to sleep. It's an uncomfortable feeling. I love that he's so attached to me but wish that he would go to sleep with dh too.

I only have 4 vacation days and cannot use my sick days if she gets sick, only vacation...so, no I can't take off any time. I have to work Memorial Day, so I thought I would take a day this week instead. Last night she did BETTER - the only thing different was she had 2oz of bm from a bottle BEFORE bedtime, bedtime was later than usual....AND she talked/played with a pillow until she fell asleep ON HER OWN (still in our bed)....BUT she only woke up 2x.

Perl - May 18

Well so much for that idea. Hey, that's great that she's falling asleep on her own (with the help of her pillow buddy)! I think my milk supply has decreased with the extra sleep so now the past couple nights the little guy has been up every 2-3 hours again. Oh my we're going backwards. : (

tryingx3 - May 22

She only did better for a couple of nights, now back up again and my husband is home again...he snored all night. :-) One day we will look back at all of this and say we miss the time we had with them...

Hi girls ... just a quick check in. How's things ??? Things haven't been as smooth as I want it to be and it's taking up all my time (in and out of the doc'c office since Isabelle was 2 weeks old)... will try to check in once things are more settled down. Take care n talk to you soon : )

tryingx3 - May 31

SANN - so glad to hear from you....we have been wondering how you were doing. I hope nothing too serious is going on! Take care and hang in there....the first weeks/months seem to just be a blur....Katie hasn't hit any MAJOR milestones yet - she is mastering talking and LONG hair right now. She can stand up and "step" on command - with a__sistance of course...can't sit up on her own yet...still doing "crunches"...not crawling and NO TEETH.

tryingx3 - May 31

I would guess Katie to be around 18lbs now.

Sann: what's going on with Isabelle? I hope it's nothing major. I felt like I was in the pediatrician's office every week for the first couple of months. First it was weight loss then a rash then, a swollen eyelid and I can't remember what elsee, oh yeah all the vomitting. Things finally settled somewhat at the end of month two. I hope everyone's okay. Trying: how much talking is Katie doing? Little Peter used to coo and say things like gee, goo yay and hey and now recently all he does is say mmm with his mouth closed. Well, he does squeal and say aah but I'm not hearing any consonants or real babble at all. I'm starting to get really concerned about this.
