i am almost 12 weeks and my cousin told me today not to sleep on your stomach as its not safe, i thought it was fine until i got bigger, is anyone sleeping on stomach or know when it is not safe

If you are comfortable go ahead. The reason you are not "supposed to" is because the added weight compresses major blood vessels such as the aorta and vena cava. If you are compressing any of these vessels you will know it! and you will know it befor anything is done. When you start to become uncomfortable in these poitions then you you it is no longer feasible. There are a lot of things that others will tell you is ok or not, go with how YOU feel. The books can be useful guides but they tend to tell you EVERYTHING that could happen, not neccesarily what will happen

i have heard not to sleep on stomach as it is not good for fetus at all at any time in pregnancy. anyone else? i will ask docter next week

when I had preeclampsia I was told the best position is to be lying on your left side.
