I am wondering if anyone has used the fertility monitor to concieve. I will be ttc starting Dec. and bought the fertility monitor hoping I would concieve faster and know sooner since I had the tr. Would like to hear some positive stories from people who have concieved quickly with the monitor.

Hi Pdodero, I too had a tr ,in Aug 06. I have been trying to conceive since then. If I get a BFN this month, I will be using my fert_ty monitor (bought this month) for the first time. Might be nice if we can compare notes on the information to come out of it. Good luck to you. Bev

I would love to compare notes and stay in touch since you also had the tr. I hope you concieve soon if you don't get a positive this time. Good luck to you as well. How much tube do you have left and did the do fertility testing before the surgery? My hubby and I are both good fertility wise and I have 6cm of tube left after they did the reversal. So they gave me about 85-90% chance.

That's great....when is you AF due? Mine is 25/26 Nov. My doc did not tell me how much tube I have left, I guess I did not think to ask about this at the time. I will ask him when I see him on the 5th Dec. He did say that he would expect me to conceive within 2 weeks, but I think he just says that to all his ladies!! I was given clomid in July, 50 mg to kick start my ovulation, nothing happened until I was put on 100 mg in Oct, I ovulated according to my CD21blood test. But maybe we did not bd at the right time. This is where the monitor will be useful. This next cycle is my last month taking clomid, I think it says on the leaflet with the montior that it might upset my readings. BUT i have read on the clearblue fertility thread that some of these ladies are taking clomid and they can still use the montior and get results. It will be interesting to see if nothing happens the following month, what my readings will be without clomid. My hubby had a sperm test before the op, and he is 'firing on all four' ,my docs words :-), so it's down to us I guess to make sure we know whats going on with our bodies. Good luck for this month. Sorry, meant to say I also had a v____al scan before the op to look at my ovaries and the doc said there were eggs but could not tell whether they were 'viable'. He said he would be able to do something with this after the surgery. That must be where the clomid came in. Did you have fertility testing? Are you taking anything? Do you know if you ovulate by yourself? Good luck & Baby dust *.*.*.*

I don't know what an AF is I'm very new to this forum. I am not taking any clomid at this time. My Doc thinks everything should work just fine without it. When I had my ultra sound before surgery I had 7 follicles in 1 ovary and 8 in the other. I still ovulate on my own. he said I should be able to conceive on my own but if we try for 4 to 6 month without he would put me on clomid. My Doc would not even think about surgery till we both went thru testing. I am glad though since if it wasn't going to be to possible I didn't want all the expense of op. My Doc also told me that anywhere from 5-7 cm of tube was ideal so was glad to hear I have 6cm. I only had 1 post op check since op and they told me to come back asap whan I get a positive to do blood work till I am far enough to have ultra sound done to make sure its in the uterus. Baby dust to you also Pam

Hi Pam, AF is Aunt flo (period). I went onto a website, which broke down all the acronyms for me. That is great that you ovulate by yourself and that they saw that many folicles. If I had the chioce I would definately have chosen to try and conceive naturally without medicine. I will let you know how much tube I have when I see my doc, I hope it is between the numbers you were told. :-0 Early this morning I woke up in real pain, my cervix and my right side were throbbing, I'm not sure why? Ectopic crossed my mind, but then why would my cervix hurt? I took a pain killer and tried to get back to sleep, it took a while for it to kick in. This morning the pain was gone thankfully. It was really strange. I hate taking pills at the best of time (even the clomid). When is your next cycle (af) due? I can't wait to start using my monitor. Take care and lots of baby dust sprinkled your way.

I should have known that one. Around the 4th. I can't wait to start trying it's hard to wait knowing I am missing the peak time right now. or next week. I guess I could try but am afraid that there might still be swelling or something in the tube since surgery. How long did your Doc tell you to wait? I hope you are right in the 5-7 cm range also. good luck at appt and hope you are blessed soon with good baby news.

Hi Pam, I was told to try as soon after the op, as I felt capable. He told me he expected me to be pregnant in two weeks??! Obviously it did not happen, I got an infection instead and all my lymph nodes were swollen in my groin area (sorr if TMI) I was put on antibiotics. I'm a little concerned I may have scar tissue now because of the infection, so I will mention this to the doc when I see him. Just curious, do you get any symptoms at all when you ovulate? Cramps in your sides? cm changes? Maybe you won't get your AF this month and have some good news to tell instead....;-) Have a great day.

Sorry I missed the point there didn't I. You won't get pregnant this month will you, as I have sort of worked out your tr was quite recent wasn't it. In that case I would wait until after your necxt cycle instead of ending up with an infection like me. Good luck

Well I had no idea you could get an infection I guess that will make it easier to wait. Did they think it was from trying so soon? How was your reversal done? I had a full laparotomy. It's the biggest incision I have ever had. It's about 6-7 inches long and a bikini cut. I reserched alot of Dr.s online but didn't want to travel to have this done since I have 3 older children now. They are 12, 15, and 17 the oldest will graduate high school in may. We are not ready to think about empty nest thus the reason to start over. my tr was done on Oct.16th and I have had 1 cycle since, but Dr. said to wait till Dec. I have felt pretty good and was able to resume relation the next week. The only thing that still hurts every now and then is the incision area when I shampoo someones hair as I am a Hairstylist the shampoo bowl hit right on the incision. I am very anxious to start using the monitor I probably would have started using it last month but just to get used to using it and have a month of info toget it started with, but the company I ordered it from never sent it so I had to order else where. Anyway I got it on about day 6. Sorry I am rambling I hope you get your great news soon Baby Dust.

By the way what website breaks down the acronyms? I will do a search I guess they do cover everything on the web! lol

That is a long time to wait, from Oct to Dec. roughly six weeks then. The website is http://4womenonly.mutexdevelopments.com/acronyms.htm My incision was the same as yours, although I did not have the lap. I would definately wait as I am now worried I have the scar tissue from the infection. I've just got off the phone with my original consultants secretary (he would not do the surgery, he referred me to the consultant who went ahead and did my tr). She said that he has refused to be my consultant for infertility as he had refused my tr. I was angry to say the least. Firstly, I wanted to go to him as he is local, secondly he is NHS so I would not have had to pay for my treatments. I will have to make a three hour round trip to see the consulltant who did my tr, but I guess if he is willing to treat me, I should be thankful. I can't wait tot use my monitor too, I want to prove that consultant wrong ;-) Have a great day

did the first Dr. say why he wouldn't do the tr? Had he done any fertility testing? I just can't imagine a Dr. refusing to do a surgery for someone when they are wanting it. My Dr. asked me if I wanted him to do it even if there was little chance
of becomming pg. I of course said if there is any chance at all I wanted him to do it. Now I have just been praying that I become pg. quickly and that everything goes well and that the baby would be healthy. I don't have to go back till I get a positive or till I decide to use clomid to help if I don't concieve quickly 4-6 months I guess. I hope you do prove him wrong. good luck!

wow thats alot to go thru. I have never had any trouble with pg. or birth. My dh and I have been married 17 years and are just not ready for empty nest. Have you ever met anyone other than on here who has had tr? I never have and am so greatful for this forum because I now know I'm not alone. I will be able to quit useing bc soon n ow and can't wait. I hope things go well next month and if your not pg yet maybe next month will be both of our month. I really hope the monitor helps bc my dh is really giving me c___p about spending the money on that but I told him it would help us know proper time to try and help me to know when I should start testing since the risk of eptopic. GL to you and I hope your dh gets to experience fatherhood soon!

Hi Pam, yes is the answer. I have spoken to a couple of ladies who have managed to conceive after tr. Go on to the 'problems getting pregnant forum', under 'HELP, anyone got pregnant after a tubal reversal', and you will see a lady by the name of ROM has had a few pregnancies, some which have gone full term. I'm due for my AF on 25/26th but will try and wait till the end of the month, if I do not get it on time. I will let you know if she arrives, then will keep you updated with my monitor results. Have a great day. Bev
