Hi, I am 15 weeks and 4 days. I just had my 16 week appt and they couldn't find the heartbeat using the doppler. they had to do a scan and saw the heartbeat and the baby moving. I thought for shore that this time i would finally hear it. this is my 4th pregnancy, i have 2 children, and had a miscarraige about 7 months ago. but with both of my children i heard it no problem from 11-12 weeks. I was worried that it might be a bad sign that they cant hear it via doppler yet. i also have a tilted uterus. i don't know if that makes much difference. the doctors don't seem to be very communicative about things. I was wondering if anyone else experienced anything like that before, or had any answers. thanks

Hey try not to worry:) they heard it with the scan and saw the baby moving so thats all great news. it is always a panic when you cannot hear it. at my 12 week appt my dr found the heartbeat pretty fast with the doppler so i was super excited. then at my 16 weeks appt the dr was trying to find it for like 10 minutes and i was freaking out! since i had two previous M/C i was so scared. then they foundit for like a few seconds and gone again. i asked was it normal for it to be so difficult to find. she said that around 14-17 weeks is the hardest cause every woman carries the baby differently and they are not always where you expect them to be. they can also move away from the noise of the doppler and hide so you cant find the heartbeat! hope this helps! good luck

With one of my daughters we heard it at 13wks then didnt get her heart beat again till 26 weeks with the doppler!!! I went for ultrasounds to be sure she was ok. Dr said she was laying back against my back and the placenta was up front. Easy said than done, but try not to worry.
