3 D Ultra Sound

Renae, they recommend doing it between 26-32 weeks to get the best images. I don't know why women think it is creepy? My hubby and I were so excited to see the baby before birth and discuss who's features she had. It was amazing and just got us more and more excited to meet her. This time around I have my 3D ultrasound scheduled for 27 weeks 5 days and we can hardly wait. Last time I was 33 weeks and things were a bit squished. I am 21 weeks 5 days today. Congratulations by the way.

thank you! I went to doc today, and have a second tri u/s (regular one) scheduled for April 8th, I will be 17 weeks 2 days at that point... I will have to decide at that point how much longer to wait for the 3d! I'm excited, and hoping to find out what I'm having, but 1st and foremost to make sure all is well! Good luck with your 3d, hope it goes great, and thanks for the reply!

No problem, be sure to let everyone know what you are having.

mjvdec- it's creepy because I had it done at only 11 weeks, wasn't expecting it and at 11 weeks you can hardly make out that it's a baby. The close up 3D appearances just look very strange, plain and simple. They're just so undeveloped still that as I said, you see a number or really strange bumps and lumps that make the baby look seriously abnormal at that stage. The doctor said it's just how they look at that stage and it's perfectly normal. I wouldn't absolutely imagine it looking much more interesting and like a baby, seeing his/her features if they were more developed than a bean sized fetus.

i had my 3d, 4d scan at 15 weeks pregnant babies are fully formed the only differance is there is no fat/weight on babys yet so they look thin. i seen characteristics of my 2nd son very well he has the turned up b___ton nose like myuself and my 1st son have!. they say mid pregnancy is bets for face pics, the further along you are the more the baby is squished and and a fetal ball position and sometimes arms and hands can be hideing there face. its a great experiance, and yes it is weird to see if its your seconds child and you didnt not experiance this with your first baby. you dont relise there is actualy a living tiny human inside of you until you see it this way.

They are a little creepy to see, especially if you have one early on when your baby doesn't have that cute chub yet. The flat images are much more settling in the early stages. :) Good luck!
