Breast Changes At 23 Weeks

So the first trimester they hurt really bad, then the last couple of months they have been really really heavy and got really big with very sensitve nipples, and hurt if they were pressed. (example, a hug would hurt). The last 3 or 4 days they dont feel as heavy and arent sensitve anymore. They dont even hurt when pressed gently. (they do if i push hard though). Is it normal for this to change so late? I figured they would continue to grow and be heavy and sensitive the rest of the pregnancy. Now im worried something is wrong. I check for the heartrate with my doppler and its still there, but why would my br___ts not continue to get heavy and stuff??

Oh yes that is totally normal. Typically the b___st sensitivity has to do with hormonal changes (and of course the size of your b___st increasing!). I actually didn't have any b___st pain after the first tri with my second pregnancy and then this pregnancy I didn't have any b___st pain in the first tri and now in the second it feels like I am newly pregnant!!! Now if you plan to nurse- they will get extremely heavy and painful!! :) Unless of course you have done this before and already realize that! :)

nope, im a first time mom, so everything is new to me. so its okay that they feel fine now and last week they were still heavy and sensitive? i thought loss of symptoms meant possible problems with the baby...

Oh this far along a loss of symptom especially b___st tenderness shouldn't mean there is anything wrong with the baby. I really would think it just means a shift in hormones. You should check with your doctor though to be safe. I would not worry though!

I haven't had any b___st issues since early in the second trimester and I am now in the third tri. They hurt like hell the first 14 weeks or so and after that hardly anything at all! Just filled out some more :)

Eliz - hi girl. Mine have kind of altred all the way through. They go from feeling sore to not back to sore and heavy to not. Dr. told me that it all has to do with the hormone levels fluctuating throughout the pregnancy, and changes are completely normal. They now feel so bloody big and heavy, but are not sore anymore. I am sure yours are just adapting as we get farther along. Check in with the doc if you are nervous though! :)

okay, so today they are smaller too! I called my doctor, and still waiting to hear back. I hate being this worried about every little thing.

The nurse called back and said if they continue to get smaller then there might be a problem and to call back in a few weeks and she asked if it was a cup size or just a little. i told her a little, but it is noticable. she said not to worry bc im so far along now it should be fine. but has anyone else had this happen to them??? why would my b___bs get smaller after getting bigger this whole time at 23 weeks instead of get bigger all the time for milk and stuff?

Elizhope, I know you are really worried but try your hardest not to be. Your milk won't come in for 3-4 days after you have the baby (colostrum yes, but usually not milk). They do get bigger but not usually until after you have the baby. That is what happened to me anyway. I can see the scare with them getting smaller but honestly like the nurse said...you are so far along I wouldn't worry. At this point I would pay more attention to the babies movements and such. I am only 17 weeks but my chest has definitely not gotten any bigger yet at all. I think everyone's body is different! I know it is hard not to worry but really try not to stress about it..it isn't good for your sweet babe!

I am the same way with mine. I am 20 weeks today, and in the beginning of the pregnancy my b___sts hurt sooo bad it hurt to wear a t-shirt with no bra! LOL then at about 13 weeks they got better they didn't reallly hurt at all, and now just my nipples hurt.
