I was recently called by my doctor and she requested that I get a colposcopy done because I had an irregular pap. They found some "abnormal cells". This isn't the first time Ihave been called with that news, about a year ago I had a colposcopy and biopsy which ended up with them finding out I have/had hpv. A strand that can cause cervical cancer even. My doctor told me that I would need a pap ever 6 months but I moved and never went. I had completely forgotten about it all. But now this all comes up again and I'm wondering if it is safe or even worth it to get this procedure done. I think getting a biopsy at 14+ weeks pregnant sounds like a horrible horrible idea. So what is the point of getting the colpo if they aren't going to do a biopsy? Its not like my doctor has eyes that can see cancer cells. Plus I've read that they cant even do treatment on me while Im pregnant. I'd have to terminate pregnancy to get treatment and I am NOT willing to do that. IF I do have cancer it wouldn't effect my growing baby. What do you think? Any suggestions? I feel lost but it seems like me and my husband agree that this seems like a very bad idea. I am only 17 and I read that most treatments for cervical cancer can make it so it is impossible or "highly unlikely" that I could get pregnant again. I really do hope that this is all just a big scare and everything is alright. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Jess, well first off you need to listen to your doctor and if you are not happy with them try going somewhere else but your health is first....do you have any family to talk to? I see you are married how supportive is your spouse....your body will undergo many changes so your health is your number one priorty. I will keep you in my prayers!
