Hello there, I am 18 weeks and tested positive for GBS in my urine. My doc prescribed penecillian and I took first pill yesterday and got immediately sick! My doc is gone for a week so I don't know if I should wait. About 95% of what I have read on internet says that they only treat it during labor....!?! Does anyone have any experience with this?!? Thanks for any help!!!!

it's weird they checked you at 18 weeks because usually they don't check until 35 weeks, but were you having a UTI? they'll check then because GBS can cause them. and they probably want to keep it out of you until your baby is born. as for the penicillin making you sick, do you have an allergy to it? and you might ask the pharmacist if you're supposed to take it with food or not because sometimes that makes all the difference. but if you are having a lot of problems with it, then by all means call your ob and find out who's taking the calls for your usual while they are gone. i don't have experience, but i looked it up for you as best as i could.
