Hi everyone, I'm a little over 17 weeks pregnant w/ my second. I forget how much movement I should be feeling at this stage. I definitley felt the flutters for the first time a week or two ago, but some days I'll feel it a few times and others not at all? I went to the doctor last week and all was well, healthy heart beat...but now I'm getting concerned cause I really haven't felt much over the past 2 days or so. I am so busy that I probably don't even notice it like I did with my first, but I'm still concerned. Should I be? Thanks ladies!!

Hi Tiffany. I'm pg with #4 and I and a little over 17wks as well and just felt what I'm sure was baby for the first time last night. The movements I'd felt before I wasn't sure about. Think they may have been gas bubbles actually. But the babes are still so small at this stage (around 6-8") that their every movement is not going to be felt in most cases. I would just get used to the fact that you're probably not going to stop worrying till that baby comes out! I'm still anxious and this is #4!

Hi, my midwife told me at my 17 week appointment not to expect to feel baby for another few weeks at least.. although as I talked to her we did discover i had been feeling mylittle one for a while. and since then tons more. But, I think that's more abnormal than usual. my books say you shouldn't really worry till after 22 weeks. I understand tho, even though I've been feeling the baby, whenever I'm busy or haven't had time to sit very still and feel my tummy (lol) I wonder if the baby has stopped moving. If it helps, my mom told me with me she felt me move only maybe once a DAY all the way up to the due date. She apparently wasn't worried by that, and I was fine.

Thanks so much for your input. I feel like even though this is my second, I'm so much more worried about things this time around. I think because with your first you are somewhat unaware of all things that can go wrong (not to be negative) but it's scary the things you hear. Then you have a healthy baby and you're so thankful and just hoping for another but realize more all the things that can happen. I don't know, that's how I feel at least. But thanks for your input ladies, I'm sure you're right. Good luck to you all and wishing you happy and healthy pregancies and babies!

Hi there! I am 15 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. With the 1st baby I didn't really know what I was looking or waiting to feel as far as the baby moving goes, however this pregnancy I have felt the baby moving for sure starting as early as 13 weeks. I am a very active person so I don't feel the baby moving too much during the day, but when I lay down and really just relax and place my hand on my belly right below the belly b___ton, I will feel the baby move. Now from having the 1st baby I was always told you should count the number of kicks per day, but who has time to do that? So I would say to just do whatever makes you really relaxed and just remain still and see if you feel anything. Another trick they told me (doctors) is to eat something full of sugar like coke or candy bar and wait and see if the baby perks up and moves like crazy then. Hope this helps!~
