I am new to this site and new to pregnancy. I am 40 and pregnant with my first child. I know I am having a little girl as I went through the Amnio etc. because of my age. I felt her move around my 22 week and I am now in my 24th week. I have only felt her very lightly the past few days and usually when I lay down and feel I could feel her kick but not so much the past couple of days. I have had 4 u/s and everything seems to progressing normally according to my Dr. Also, I feel really good, I have gained about 10lbs and have a little belly but other than that I don't really feel pregnant. I didn't have any morning sickness or br___t tenderness that I really noticed so this all came as quite a shock, actually thought I was in early stages of menopause when I only spotted in January. Have any of you had these same issues at your 24-25 week?

I am 30 weeks 5 days with our second child and it sounds to me like you are doing just fine. With my first I didn't feel any movement until 22 week and even then it was sporatic until I hit about the 26 week mark. This time I felt movement at 15 weeks. I think with subsequent babies you just know what to 'look' for. As far as morning sickness, you should consider yourself luck because it sucks and takes everything out of you. 10 pound weight gain at 24 weeks is perfect. Soon you will be in your 3rd trimester and then you will have your perfect baby girl. Congratulations!!

first off, congratulations! I'm in my 26 week and I have felt very little movement as well. All of my friends have told me how their husbands and partners could feel the baby move already and I can't even really feel much more than flutters once in awhile myself. Please don't worry, as mjvdec said, it sounds like you are doing fine. If you are really worried maybe your dr can alleviate concerns wiht an u/s. I'm sure your little baby is doing great! Good luck.

First off, congratulations to you! So exciting. And with your first, there's just so much you don't know that you worry about. Since you felt movement already, it's fine. It's still somewhat early. I happened to just have my first baby boy just last November and got pregnant again right after at 31 years old...I'm now 21 weeks pregnant and feel A LOT of movement already with this one...I didn't feel it until much later than this with my first. I agree that by the second one, it's just plain different and you know more of what to expect. I too was very small with the first one until the very, very end and at only 21 weeks now with our 2nd baby boy, I feel and look like I did at the tail end of my last pregnancy and I'm only five months! You could be feeling less movement too because of the way the placenta is positioned, it could act as a cushion to the kicks. My gyno told me that with my first. So much you don't even realize but the important thing is you look and feel great and have seen it through ultra-sounds. Relax and enjoy feeling good with it for as long as you can! Congrats again on your baby girl! Any names yet?
