I had those in my first trimester. now also in second I have them when I stand or work for a long time. I find drinking water and stting for a while before they become worse works. I guess that is normal..

I've been having uncomfortable twinges in my lower belly, but more on the sides. They are worse when i get stressed or upset. I'm really worried now because I've been bleeding some.

I have had them too. It is uncomfortable! I called my doctor and he says it is a normal part of your body adjusting and growing for the growing baby. I have had not had any bleeding though. Leisha, I would call your doctor. Not to alarm you, but you can never be to sure.

It could just be your muscles/ligamnets stretching to accomodate your growing uterus (are you showing well yet?) or sometimes it means a bladder infection. In any result, you should alleviate all concern by asking your doctor or midwife. If they diagnose it as standard growing pains than expect more of them to come but, if they discover it's a bladder infection, it will need to be fixed with antibiotics right away. Bladder infections can cause preterm labour.
