Is it true that it may be easier to tell the s_x of your baby if you drink orange juice before your ultrasound? if it is true, how much time before should you drink it?

I read lots of posts from others on this site that it works, but I tried it for my 21 wk scan and the baby didn't move much at all. It had it's hands over it's face and the midwife had to give my belly a good hard prod to get it to move them away. I was lucky enough to find out she's a girl though. I'd say give it a try anyway. It might work for you.

For my 18wk ultrasound, I drank OJ and water. But the ultrasound department was so busy that day, they took me in an hour past my appointment time. My bladder was ready to burst, they let me go to the bathroom to empty some of it. By the time they scanned me, my baby wasn't moving that much, he was probably tired of waiting too :-) But we were lucky to be able to see HIS genital.

AT my first u/s when I was 8w2d, the tech asked me if I smoke & of course I don't, she then asked what I had been eating before I came & I let her know some grapes and mike&ikes. She said "oh that's it then, the sugar" apparently the baby was moving all around because the sugar made "it" a little hyper... so I don't think it's necessarily O.J., but anything with high sugar content in it.

I'd heard of that too, and at my 19wk u/s I tried it. Little guy had his legs wide apart. I read that about 30min before your appt if you drink some or even eat something small, it gets the baby to move a bit. It's worth a try!
