Question About Pains In Stomach

Hi guys.. ok so this morning I woke up with absolutely horrible pains in my upper stomach and I am hoping that you guys can give me some insight as to what it might be. I am almost 22 weeks along and a high risk pregnancy so I really don't want to call my doctor because I am afraid that they will want to send me to the hospital and I don't want to panic the whole family if it is something normal like ligament pains or Braxton Hicks or something. Basically the pain is across the entire top of my belly and it hurts really bad to breathe and it hurts. The pain is pretty consistent but does fade a bit and get worse every once in a while. It has been going on for about an hour and 25 minutes since I woke up. I have tried walking around, going to the bathroom, changing positions while laying down and nothing helps. Does anyone have any advice or any idea of what the pain could be. I will call my doctor in a while if the pain gets worse or does not go away I just really wanted to see if you guys have any ideas first. Thanks, I really appreciate any and all help =)

Sometimes I get pains like that when I have gas. Have you tried taking anything for that?

actually no I haven't.. any suggestions on what I could try? I have never taken any thing for gas so I wouldn't even know what to take. Thanks for the suggestion =)

Joeby- since you are high risk, I wouldn't hesitate in calling the dr., better to play it safe. Did you have that tooth pulled yet?

hi JNFR- I know this is bad but no I haven't had the tooth pulled because I caught a really bad cold last week and the Oral Surgeon couldn't do the extraction and I have to reschedule it. I am trying to sleep this pain away and it seems to be easing up a tiny bit so hopefully I won't have to call the doctor but if it doesn't go away in a couple of hours I am going to. I will keep you updated

I get the same pain with gas across the top. I would call he doc to see what you can take for the gas and if that dosen't help I would get checked out.

These are the Gas meds I found online that pregnant women can take:it is generally considered safe for women to take antacids such as Tums or Rolaids as well as Simethicone, which is found in the over the counter medications Gas-X, Mylicon and Phazyme.

Thanks guys.. I pretty much slept all day to escape the pain and I did get some of the medicine you guys suggested so thank you for that. I am feeling a bit better today and I have my normal Perinatologist appt.. this week so I will make sure to mention it to him when I go in. Thanks again so much for all of the support =)
