SO Worried

Hi everyone, I think I posted this in all of the pregnancy boards! I'm crazy and I worry too much, and I can't get enough reassurance! well here's the issue,I am 19 weeks and I've always washed fruits and vegetables with dish soap and water, and never thought about it, but now all of a sudden I'm extremely worried that I hurt my baby, I do not do that with leafy greens, grabes, strawberries, etc only things with skin like apples, tomatoes, cuc_mber, and to add to my horror I just realized that it was an antibacterial soap (has triclosan), anyway I read online about it and it seems that I'm the only one in this world who does that! I feel awful, was I doing a crazy horrible thing this whole time? all what I care about now is the baby, any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks.

Hello, I use the Seventh Generation dish soap to wash my fruits/veggies. It's non-toxic and I use it for everything b/c honestly produce is dirty. My cousins son got really sick b/c she cut into an avocado that wasn't washed properly. Maybe you can try switching to the natural dish soap. The kind I get is about $3, it's not bad.

You're fine! :) My dd's pediatrician suggested washing the fruits and veggies I use to make her food with dishsoap. I understand the triclosan thing, but you rinse off the soap right? If so then you are totally ok. Even if not you've probably not ingested a whole bottle of it, lol. Just don't do it anymore and use something like Fit fruit and veggie wash. It is in the veggie section and I use that instead of dishsoap. It has all natural ingredients that come from food sources.
