Safe Cold Medicines

Hey guys! I am 21 weeks along and somehow over the weekend, I have come down with an absolutely horrible sore throat that is not going away. I am hoping it is not strep throat. I have been sucking on cough drops, gargling and drinking tea but I can't get rid of it. I almost have no voice left so my husband is calling my doctor this morning. Until he returns our call does anyone have any suggestions on any safe cold medicines I can take while pregnant? Thanks all and have a good day!

joeby321, I've had three head colds so far, and I'm only half way there. Have you checked for a fever? If you have a fever, you should get rid of it ASAP (tylenol is supposed to be good). I found what helps the pain and stuffiness is to turn on my humidifier. For faster relief, I close up my bathroom tight and sit in the room while I run a hot shower. I hope you feel better soon!

Hi guys- well the doctor called and said I can take anything that is a Tylenol product. So far I have no fever or stuffy nose or anything just a horrible burning sore throat and no voice. My throat is terribly raw and feels like it is on fire. I hope the Tylenol helps and it goes away soon, I feel miserable. Preggers I hope you don't get any more head colds that really sucks that you have had so many. Thanks for the advice =)
