Today while I was at work, I had an abdominal pain that felt like my stomach was tightening from the sides in toward the middle. It reached a point where it was difficult to breathe, and then eased up gradually. This is probably a dumb question, but was that a contraction? This is my 2nd pregnancy, but I never had a contraction with the first (emergency c-section). I'm only 20 weeks, and I'm going to ask my doctor about this pain at my office visit tomorrow, but I just wondered if anyone had anything similar happen, or if this is what a contraction feels like?

Cramping at 8 wks is pretty common. Don't worry about it unless you bleed. Then you may want to inform your doctor. I cramped from 3-10 wks but it wasn't very painful.
