Hi has anyone been told a their 12 week scan there is a slightly thickened nuchal measurement? Everything on the scan looked great baby was kicking and waving and had a good hearbeat but eh measurement behind the neck is apparently slightly thick (4mm) We have to go for another scan later today and have been told it does mean a chance of downs' though chances are everything will be fine as sometimes baby just has a little extra fluid. Any experience would be appreciated. We are so excited about our new baby but this has scared us too... Thanks in advance xxx

I did not experience this, but I did do alot of searching about this prior to my scan. If you google it you can find alot of helpful info :) My normal NT measurement was 2mm. So yours isnt really high. I have seen patients with higher numbers like 6-8mm. And they have had healthy babies :)
Good luck! Hope all goes well!

The measurement by itself doesn't mean much, though over 3mm will generally cause some concern. Once they get your bloodwork done you'll get a risk ratio.
