Uterus Position

Hey ladies. Where are your uterus'? At your belly button, above your belly button, where? And how many weeks are you. I will be 22 weeks tomorrow and my uterus is "suppossed" to be between a half an inch and an inch above my belly button. Instead its right at the bottom of my belly button. At 24 weeks with my daughter I still don't remember my uterus being THAT high. Its slowly moving up though, I feel it like 40 times a day lol. I had my doctor measure the fundus last visit and he said it was great BUT said a tape measurer is old school and not accurate so he checked the baby's growth through ultrasound. He checks the baby every visit and the baby seems to be growing great so far and also measuring a tiny bit ahead so I know my baby isn't small or that my dates are off. Anyway, no big deal but curious.

I don't think it is an exact science or anything... I actually don't even check mine, just something else for me to think about. As long as doc says it's okay- then I wouldn't even think about it. I'm glad to hear all is well with you & baby!!! =0)

I am not sure how to really check where mine is? Any suggestions or should I just continue to not worry about it and not check it?

Man, this was a big issue for me because at one point (13-14 weeks, it didn't feel like it was getting higher at all! I was using a mole as a marker. Happy to report, it has moved higher than the mole. Yay.) But now at 16w5d mine is about 1.5-2 inches below my belly b___ton. But I distinctly remember with my last baby at 20 weeks my fundus was still a bit below my belly b___ton. And this one I keep thinking, holy c___p, how is it going to grow that much in 3 weeks 2 days! Especially if it is supposedly 1 cm a week. And to be even more descriptive, if I have to pee, my fundus it only about an 1inch below my bb if not less. And sometimes I can't even feel it and sometimes it's hard to miss. Weird. I think if you are feeling movement, etc. you should be alright! GL!

I am 26 wks and my uterus is measuring about 2 in from my belly b___ton. At my 24 week prenatal my doc told me I was measuring at exactly 24cm. I feel the baby high and low so he must still be able to squirm around, or else those little fists of his are as strong as his feet. haha! Fundal height measurements aren't exact because it depends on the size of your baby, amount of fluid & baby's position.

What does a uterus feel like? i cant tell. Im 13 weeks and not sure what to feel for..will it be an obvious lump on my stomach? or is it too early for me? oh, and i have/had a tilted uterus. my doctor says it should have flipped forwards by now though.

WOW, thanks so much for all your responses ladies. Softbreeze, you don't have to check it. I just do it out of habit I guess, I'm always feeling for BH and contrax anyway so my hand is already there lol. If I just put my finger tips on my belly I can feel my uterus. Its like a smooth surface in your tummy, but for a while I couldn't tell the difference between it and my muscle/abdomen wall. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer so go ahead and check it if you want. Heatherjene is right, its not an excat science, I'm just curious. Ekay03, I'm so happy that your uterus is finally above your mole! Lol. I know what you mean when you say you felt like it wasn't growing at all. That's how I feel now. Hey Elizhope, I have a tipped uterus as well. I totally forgot all about that. I think it striaghtens itself out by the second tri though. Its harder to feel your uterus in the begining but it will soon be unmistakeable :)
