Waking Up In The Middle Of The Night

I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem. I am 12 weeks (second child), and I have no problem falling asleep. The problem is when I wake up in the middle of the night because of needing the bathroom, or my son running into our bedroom or whatever it is, it takes me forever to fall back asleep. Frequently, I'll wake up at 4am, and not fall back asleep until 5:45, but then I have to get up for work at 6:15. So during the day I am exhausted from that, work and dealing with our autistic son. Does anyone have any tricks for falling asleep quickly? Thank you!

I wish there was some magical cure. I feel for you dear, you have a full slate! The only thing I can begin to think of is some lavender. This helps me alot. If you could find some lavender scented lotion or something to keep by your bedside, this may help. Bless your heart.

Try meditation. It helped out a lot for me. I will lay in bed and just let my mind go blank and relax. I usually fall right asleep.

Nikki and Kris - thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try both, although meditation will be difficult at first. I'm a typical woman in that whenever I first settle down for bed, I've got grocery lists, work to-do lists, appointments, etc running through my head. But I'll try anything. Thanks!
