Oh yeah are yeast infections commun during pregnancy! With all your hormones out of whack, yeast infections are almost expected during this time. Over the counter creams are just fine for treating them, but make sure to mention it to your doc as well and he may want to try an alternate way of treating it, depending of it's severity. Also, be aware that bladder infections are more likely during pregnancy as well, so if you have any of those symptoms, make sure you contact your doc right away.

If you eat yoghurt - it tends to fight off the yeast bacteria.

I have had loads of yeast infections for a year or two. It is absolutely terrible! Looks like there's cottage cheese coming out of you, you have to scratch all the time and it smells bad! Boy oh boy how I remember that! Turned out my v____a was allergic to ordinary perfumed soap. I switched to non-perfumed glycerine soap. Never had another infection ever again! You must eat the yoghurt like Candee said, but eat the stuff that says it has "live bacteria" in it. What you can also do is to actually smear the yoghurt as deep as possible into your v____a (no, don't go yuck, it actually gives great relief!) but make sure to wear a pad as well, as it tend to come out again (and obviously it smells a little bad). That also helps you heal a bit quicker as you actually bring the bacteria right into the spot where they need to grow to restore the v____al pH. Lots of luck, I do hope it clear up soon.
